Frankfurt want to renegotiate Kristensen deal

Good Morning. It's Thursday 30th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Frankfurt want to renegotiate Kristensen deal

Eintracht Frankfurt are to renege on a €15m deal for Danish International wing-back Rasmus Kristensen, and instead, want to strike up a deal at a significantly lower price. Despite his impressive campaign thus far, 'the Eagles' are having second thoughts about triggering Kristensen's activation clause. He's currently fourth in Dino Toppmöller's roster (four places above former Elland Road favourite Robin Roch), and has played a massive part in helping lift his side into third place in the Bundesliga.

According to media outlet Bild, Frankfurt are hoping to secure his services for a figure 'below €10m', raising questions about Leeds United's resolve. They are seen by many as being a soft touch, especially taking into account the indiscretions in many of the top players contracts, which still haunt the club today!

Harrison set to return to Leeds?

Rumours are increasing that Everton are going to terminate the loan spell of Jack Harrison, meaning a returns to Elland Road could be imminent, whether Leeds like it or not! The 28 year old turncoat, like many others took full advantage of the clauses in his contract, to abandon the Whites in their hour of need. He's been with the Toffee's for 18 months now, but has endured a difficult season on the blue side of Merseyside.

Harrison is said to be 'shot of confidence'. He hasn't scored for almost a year, and is yet to make a worthwhile contribute this season in 1,000 minutes of game time. Rules state that if he were to return to Leeds, Daniel Farke must integrate him back into the first team squad, which could cause friction and volatility within the ranks. I suppose the club could re-introduce him as a 'new player, just as they did with Adam forshaw.

I get your point, he'd probably do OK in the right setup.

Is FarkeBall it though? Harrison is a left winger, Farke likes his front line narrow like Jesse Marsch and we rarely cross the ball.

Was never a fan and don't want him back but even if I was I don't think he'd fit tactically.
I did feel that at some point under Bielsa he would have been a fluid 10.

Strange how these things work out isn’t it. To think Jack could be tearing it up at Camp Nou whilst poor old Raph would be slumming it with the robbing scousers. Sliding doors…

Levels apart no matter what stat says.

20/21 season
Harrison 8 goals and 8 assists - 2990 minutes
Raphinha 8 goals and 11 assists - 2893 minutes

21/22 season
Harrison 10 goals and 2 assists - 2917 minutes
Raphinha 11 goals and 3 assists - 2968 minutes

Overall:
Harrison 18 goals and 10 assists - 5907 minutes
Raphinha 19 goals and 14 assists - 5861minutes

Hardly suggests that 1 is a world superstar and one would be 5th choice winger for a championship side. They are like peas in a pod and I have no doubt that if Harrison was playing for Barcelona he would be the better player - have I gone to far.
