Penny for the thoughts of Ruben Amorim.
6 months ago he was probably with Xabi Alonso the most highly rated young manager in Europe.
Xabi Alonso is the new Real Madrid manager.
Amorim has averaged less than 1ppg for Manchester United and like Ten Hag his previous glowing reputation is in tatters.

Re: Claudio Ranieri/Leicester
I think I know what you’re saying here. It was perhaps the question as to whether Farke is better than Corberan or vice versa. I used the barometer of success or promotions versus doing well with lesser players. I don’t remember anyone on here clamouring for his appointment back in the day. I wasn't ...

Re: Lionel Messi-Goated
Miami are in deep trouble right now. Since my last post, they have dropped 8 out of their last 9 points in league play. And they got absolutely bombed in the CONCACAF Champion's Cup semi final losing the 2 match total goals affair 1-5 to Vancouver Whitecaps. Messi's form has dropped yes. But the ...

Re: Claudio Ranieri/Leicester
Oh excuse me Bjay are you comparing Ranieri to Corberan? As you say (occasionally) context is everything. Certainly in his case but not if you cant even get a promotion from the Championship. Corberan not in Ranieri’s league is he. Sneaking this in where I might not see it eh. I’d sneak something so ...

Re: Experience is essential in the Premier League.
The Premier League has changed since Brighton, Brentford, Wolves & Bielsa's Leeds were promoted. Experience signings is about what a player brings to a club. If we sign a couple of experienced PL campaigners, it would probably double the 724 appearances figure we are currently on, which would be ...

Re: Experience is essential in the Premier League.
Well, James Milner has nearly 650 PL appearances under his belt at Brighton. Dunk, Marsh & Welbeck will be very high too. Leeds are in a better state than Ipswich were when they came up, experienced-wise. 107 Meslier 106 James 102 Bamford 85 Struijk 59 Byram 50 Bogle 43 Firpo This may change as ...

Re: Experience is essential in the Premier League.
Doesn't that argument fall down somewhat given West Ham are crap and I don't imagine (haven't checked) but Brighton and Forest for example aren't exactly overwhelmed with Premier League old heads?

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
I heard it was a close tie, and the EFL asked Farke and Parker to send in photos of their cars. Some say that this influenced the committee to cast the vote for Parker. and some say snobbishness won.IMG_20250519_114904.jpg IMG_20250519_115137.jpg Why does DF look like someone just killed his dog ...

Re: Summer poll ideas
Will start this in the coming weeks. It will be an all time MOT forum 11 and manager. No Leeds players allowed and no Leeds managers. Will be a 4-2-3-1 formation team. Will be separate threads for people to Nominate each position. Then a vote on each. Will keep it to one nomination each per position ...

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
Yes indeed so Farke was by your argument more likely to fail but didn't. Whereas the Ford driver had a reasonable chance of overachieving, and did to a certain extent but didn't hugely overachieve. So well done for finally acknowedging what a fantastic job Farke has done. Messiah like in your words ...

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
There would be no need to criticise the Bugatti driver though. He may have had the best car but he won the race so it was well done, he couldn't really have done any better. Well done also for the team on choosing him. The Ford driver may be better at getting the most out of an old banger but no ...
