Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 18th August) Leeds face competition over Italian International hitman

G'mornin Wilfried Gnonto The club have clearly looked at him because Di Marzio is very very reliable and Romano has backed it up. I'm not convinced we will sign anyone else however as I am utterly convinced the club never planned to spend more than we received in fees and firmly believe Harrison wou...

Re: Rodrigo

Rodrigo is a pretty solid 3rd option to play the No.9. That is assuming he's the the 3rd and Dan James is the 4th. With that, why should we bring in some s**t 2nd rate back up. Everyone is clamoring for us to buy a striker. Easier said than done. Someone better than Rodrigo who played No.9 for Spai...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

As I say thought the trouble seems to be more about how good the young players were. The two you mention, Gelhardt and Summerville, would appear to be the standouts but we hae also seen with Marsch that Gelhardt is seen as a back-up and Summerville seems to be behind Aaronsen, Harrison, James and Si...

Re: Summer 2022 transfer speculation and squad discussion

Conner talked about it on the One Leeds Fan Channel. Other than that just some rumors in minor USA media. Nothing I would call serious. Just thought I would get in front of it. Because like you said....It won't happen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVgpLRMueLA I love Pulisic! No issues with him i...

Re: Wolves Thread

Exceptional signing.

With Goncalo Guedes in the time since we played Wolves they have spent over £70mil on two top level signings who wouldn't look out of place in in top 6 team.

Taking there spending well past £100mil.

Re: Summer 2022 transfer speculation and squad discussion

Hearing all these Christian Pulisic to LUFC rumors today. As an American Leeds supporter let me just say this would be a TERRIBLE idea. The price tag is WAY too high for one thing. But I just don't see him as a Leeds player. And where does he fit in the system? I think he would be a huge disruption...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

Pep was quoted on TSB last week as saying that this was his preferred system too. Very true mate. Pep himself uses a very small squad. It's one of the things he has gotten criticism for in the media and also by his own fans. His lack of use of the youth players to is a big cause of frustration on t...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

Training. Bamford mentioned the 10000 hours rule the other day That is acquired by training. Game time comes on top. Players going out on loan is valuable of course but it won't help them if they don't train Training is important absolutely and learning drills etc but the idea was we used the same ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

Often with young players they need more of a father figure to nurture them and to that degree Marsch would be better for them as he would allow them to grow. As for improving them I think a lot depends on the player. We saw at Leeds that players like Ayling and Cooper bought into what he was tellin...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

Well if you use the metric of playing time only you discount about 90% of what a manager does to improve players. What exactly is the 90%? Most players I've seen interviewed have always said there is no substitute for playing matches to improve. Hence why most teams loan players out if they can't g...

Re: Summer 2022 transfer speculation and squad discussion

Right, Cjay you're the best guy for this perhaps along with Faaip. Out of all our new signings, how can we put them into a category ? i.e : Speculative punt ? ( Raphinha ?).... Proven Prem player ? (Ronaldo ?)... Experienced guy ( James Milner?) you get my drift ? I think they're all gambles. Roca,...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

It is still very subjective though cos if the roster (or squad for our non american posters) at Salzburg say had 30 players and 20 of them were aged 22 years or younger then as a manager you don't have much choice but to play them. Contrast that with the squad that Bielsa and Marsch have had at Lee...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

What level were those players already at when Marsch first encountered them? How much direct input did he have into their progress? Over what timescales? At RB Salzburg. All of them were young, some just teenagers. Karim Adeyemi was only 17/18, I suppose was maybe like Gelhardt, Marsch gave him his...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 16th August) - Leeds trust the current first team squad to be successful

If the team is better because we have finally strengthened the squad, that is not a measure either of Marsch's ability as a coach, nor of his standing in the game. We're still waiting for his equivalent to Stoke 2018, where we see a convincing performance for 90 minutes with a clear indication of h...

Couldn't disagree more regarding Firpo, think that's just fan bias, he's very good going forward and ok defensively.. For the money paid apart from JKA its been a success basically.. In fairness regarding Firpo it isn't just "fan bias". Media have mentioned it to. At the very very least h...
