Re: Cricket 2024

Bethell gone for 96 (interestingly his highest 1st class score). What a shame. Hope we get to see a lot more of him.

Re: Cricket 2024

Jacob Bethell has another ideal second innings opportunity here

First test was a small chase, he smashed a no pressure 50 off 40 balls. Today with over 200 runs lead, he can enjoy himself again

I really hope he succeeds because he is great to watch

Crawley out 4 times to Henry in 4 innings for not many runs.
Yeah Crawley has been disappointing

Would be nice to see Root get some runs

Re: Today's Games - Burnley vs Middlesbro' - 8pm

In a roundabout way the guy in charge of recruitment at Boro played a large part in Farke building his career at Norwich. Was Head of Recruitment at Norwich. Kenny McLean, Emi Buendia, Tim Krul, Teemu Pukki and others all flagged up by him to Webber and Farke. Got a good eye. We've done decent as a ...

Good result tonight. Someone said earlier that we should only be worrying about our own results. I agree.

But two top 5 teams cancelling each other out is cool too.

Re: Cricket 2024

Impressive bowling performance. Bowled them out for 125. Gus Atkinson hat trick.

This is on a wicket where NZ won the toss and had the pick of the conditions. We got 280 they got 125.

Should be a good evening for me. England batters allowed to bat with full freedom and no pressure.

Re: Premier League Thread

IF we do go up it WILL be a relegation battle, and if we survive that then probably season 2 as well. Leicester are the best equipped team to go up in years having had only 1 championship season in what? 10 years plus? Even they're struggling. Spend heavily, it's still difficult. Look at how many ...

Re: Premier League Thread

News today that Newcastle will have to sell in January I'd be furious if I was a Newcastle fan. Selling out to the richest owners in the world and they can't spend. I know PSR. And the rules are stricter now than they were before Newcastle got all that money. But Chelsea have managed to spend. And ...

Re: Cricket 2024

Curious .... Did Sky lose all the men's cricket. All I ever see listed now is Women's cricket. They even seem to put Women's cricket first on Sky Sports News. The men's cricket is always on some obscure channel (that I always have to go searching for) over here.

Re: Leeds United v Derby County Match Thread

As you mentioned previously, and I forgot to respond to the post to be honest Andrew (apologies), there is absolutely no thought whatsoever for the away fans attending the game. It’s bad enough for the home fans who live local, but even worse for away fans and home fans who have to travel a fair d ...

Re: Archie Gray

Didn't look at all out of place on that stage. He's still a kid learning his trade! Good as he was with us he was at the beginning of his learning curve and by definition there was no designated position for him; other than goalkeeper he could have been put anywhere on the pitch. I was only half ...

Re: January transfer and squad discussion.

Let Red Bull take over recruitment They pluck players out of their arse paying 50p and they are amazing and sell them for £50mil 12 months later. I suspect Farke will want them to ask Villa about Buendia again though. Do you buy anything into today's Breakfast Debate - that we're likely to have ...

Re: Leeds United v Derby County Match Thread

12:30 seems perfect for the Merseyside derby tomorrow. Easy for locals to get to. It's a big occasion, almost like a bank holiday, so they can make a day of it. Would be nice if all 12:30 KO's were so well planned. Someone also mentioned that these 12:30 KO's are for the international audience ...

Per that conversation a couple of days ago. I work tonight. So really hating the 4:30 am start. Might be watching it in bed. Yes, it kills the mood when it's too early to get up and make a cup of tea and a bacon butty.

I was struggling between old Radiohead and newer Radiohead. There There seems to fall in between. A lot of that old grunge feel with a lot of the newer more progressive elements.

Re: Do We Concede More Than We should?

Piroe is exceeding his xG and has the 3rd highest minutes to goal ratio in the league. We don't create that many chances and have very little creativity centre of the pitch from Aaronson, Rothwell and Tanaka and no goals from defence. Do you have a link to individual players goals vs xg? Would be ...

Lies, dawned lies and then statistics. Remember. If you have 1 foot in a bucket of boiling water and the other in a bucket of ice .... on average you're just fine. Love it - never heard it that way I dont think it's a question of conceding too many or not scoring enough. We do have the ...
