Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 13th May) Leeds could blow a third of their budget on a keeper
Personally I'd stick with Meslier. But I do think we'll be under a barrage next season and there will be a lot of pressure on the goalie. That's why I'd want to go with an older head that's been in those situations before. I'd keep Melsier as back up as he could learn a lot from a journeyman with a ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 13th May) Leeds could blow a third of their budget on a keeper
Caoimhin Kelleher has always looked decent enough whenever I've seen him and £10-15mil seems reasonable. £40mil would make him the 5th most expensive goalie ever which given he has only about 70 senior club starts to his name would be absolutely insane. Wouldn't go above £15mil myself as its one th ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 13th May) Leeds could blow a third of their budget on a keeper
Meslier could have played in goal for Liverpool this season and they'd have still won the title. Hell he played in goal for us and we won our League too so maybe we should all remember that. Annoying reading posts of how we would have won the League by 20 points with a different goalkeeper when ...

Re: Promotion or not?
We signed Rodon for £10m. Rothwell deserves at least a B. Aaronson 9 goals & 2 assists, probably an A minus or at least a B. Wober scored a goal, and Guilavogui & Schmidt did their bit when coming on as subs. My initial post should read ten signings as I forgot we'd signed Darlow & Byram in 2023. I' ...

You called Zero 7 a poor man's Massive Attack a few weeks ago. I didn't deduce from that that you liked them. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 3:56 pm I'm not disagreeing but why do people always think poor mans is a bad thing? it's not.. it can be a compliement. Which in this case it was.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 13th May) Leeds could blow a third of their budget on a keeper
Kelleher definitely worth considering. But absolutely not at that price. I'd rather go with a cheap experienced option. Especially as we have a young squad. A lot has been said about what Guilavogui brought to the squad and the dressing room. Would be a good role for an experienced keeper to play. I ...

Re: Promotion or not?
Solomon/Tanaka/Bogle were the pick of the signings. Ramazani flashed, Rothwell was over rated. The other three didn't feature enough or at all A+ for Solomon/Bogle/Tanaka. B for Rama, C- for Rothwell. The rest ungraded I'd say Rothwell didn't stand out as a loan player. You expect loan players from ...

Re: Player Of The Season
A couple of players on that at least deserve some recognition. Wish we could do 6,5,4,3,2,1 like we do on the match threads:
Rodon
James
Solomon
Bogle
Tanaka
Firpo
Rodon

Re: Cricket 2025
The declaration timing was fine. The fact that it took us 2 sessions to get the first wicket today, & that we had 27 overs to get their 10 & 11 out and could not do it, were the reasons it was a draw and not a win for us. Nothing to do with the (alleged) late declaration. Fair play to Essex, their ...

Re: Cricket 2025
Some excellent strike rates in Yorkshire's 2nd innings. Lyth 65% Wharton 52% Bairstow 107% Revis 116% First 300 runs were pretty slow. A touch over 3 an over. Then Bairstow and Revis upped it at the end. Starting to look now like we batted too long and/or didn't score fast enough earlier in the ...

Re: Player Of The Season
I would have gone for James a month ago. But he missed the run in. And Solomon was great in the second half. In the end I went with Rodon because he did it all season.

Re: Harry Gray poll
I very much doubt it. If DF wanted to really use Harry this season was the time. How often do you see a newly promoted club using 16 year old? Basically never. Realistically he will sit on the bench all season if he even makes the squad. Since you mention the age, not often you see a 16 year old ...

Re: Harry Gray poll
I'd like to keep him in the squad but don't think sitting on the bench all season is the best thing for his development. So went loan. Realistically when is it likely DF would use him? If we keep Piroe and one of Bamford or Joseph and sign a new striker that makes Harry 4th choice. Bar an injury ...

Re: Harry Gray poll
This but 21's is the obvious place .... Harry will be the same age next season as Archie was when he had his full season with us, in the championship. And by reports Harry is the better player. Every possibility that Harry could see quite a bit of game time next season. So worth having him in the ...

Re: Cricket 2025
It was a near perfect day for Yorkshire. Outstanding with the ball in the morning from Hill and Coad. They were that good they were kept on for a full 75 minutes from the start of play before Bairstow gave them a break and Essex had no answer with Hill looking unplayable and finishing with 6-51. If ...

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
The biggest strength of the Bielsa team was the togetherness and the team being greater than the individual parts. Raphinha was the only signing that strengthened the promotion winning team (Koch/Llorente not as good as White, Rodrigo unable to oust Bamford). That same sense of togetherness is with ...

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
It was close and the wrong signing may have tipped the scale in our opponent's favour. Ultimately it can only be judged on how it finished and that shows we got it right. It may be that a new signing would have saw us win the league by 5 points, it may have saw us finish 3rd or 4th - we can never ...
