Re: Today's Games

I am beginning to really dislike VAR too. Maybe its because its still in its infancy and still needs tweaking but just doesnt seem to suit football like it does other sports such as Rugby League/Cricket etc etc. Hate the fact that fans cant celebrate a goal for the fear the ball has crazily hit som...

Re: Today's Games

Just think back to the play-offs first leg and Derby fans celebrating getting a penalty, a minute or so later and the referee changes his mind. So it isn't like VAR is the only thing causing a delay and overturning decisions. The key is to get the right decision as often as you can and if VAR helps...

Re: Ashes 2019 : England v Australia

Smithy ruled out of Headingley Test.

Traditionally the Aussies do well in Leeds so this is a massive boost.

So draw the series this week, bring Jimmy back for the Manchester Test to make it 2-1, then play out the customary draw at the Oval.

Easy :)

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 20th Aug) Winning start for U23's, Frank conversation from Brentford......

Good Morning. I just tuned in just in time for Bogs ( :) ) winner. Good start to the season, itvlooks typical Bielsaball they score two we score three. How did Edmunson play? I hope we get a look at Bogs, I am sure once injuries and suspensions manifest themselves the entire squad will be needed. Th...

Re: U23's 2019-20

Last season the U23s seemed to play better when 'first teamers' weren't in the team. Hugely different approach during the games for youngsters trying to prove they are good enough compared to 'first teamers' using it as a fitness run out and trying not to get injured but not playing at 100%. A bit ...

Re: U23's 2019-20

Seeing that lineup today suggests we will see the same starting 11 on Weds.

I thought for such a strong lineup Leeds should have romped that match.

Re: Album Club Review - ????

A mate managed to get a white label copy of Saxon's debut about a month before it's official release, he was raving about it, about a week after the official release 3 of us went to see them at the Lafayette in Wolverhampton, not a place for the faint hearted, there were about 50 people there, they...

Good choices, but Steve Hackett did tapping first, man... 8-)
Unfortunately Hackett belonged to that category commonly known as Boring Old Fart in the circles I moved in.

Give me a Gary Moore or even Ritchie Blackmore any time.

Re: Album Club Review - ????

Ok, seeing that no-one is biting can I offer two albums that were heavily influential on my life growing up in the 70s. There are others, Pink Floyds Animals, Marillion, Script for a Jesters' Tear, Motorhead, Bomber, AC/DC Highway to Hell. Springsteen BITUSA and I could go on But these two will suff...

Saxon were the first band I ever saw. Wheels of Steel. I was 13, they were men with moustaches in spandex, I was... perplexed.
Saw that tour at the Glasgow Appollo and yes all that Spandex was worrying.

My first gig was Motorhead. £3.50 a ticket :)

Re: Album Club Review - ????

Late 70's and early 80's metal a touch cliched for me ...Did enjoy Demon though, maybe a bit of Tygers . Both of whom I saw live, both of whom are extremely dated now. Dark Star and Trespass too. All NWOBHM bands of course. Trespass's One of these Days probably the finest track that genre ever prod...

Sub fielder is a bit different..and 57 years.
Yes it is as it allows the home nation to keep a gun fielder on the field all day if they so wish. They should use the 12th man instead which would be fairer.

Re: Ashes 2019 : England v Australia

Not sure it is to be honest, I've no problem with a player entering a concussion protocol at that point there can be no arguing and he should have to pass a medical to get reinstated. But I don't see why they get a sub. Could be said us losing Jimmy A in the first test led to defeat for us. Why cou...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 19th Aug) Post match reaction, Whites linked to Serb and Eddie's cost revealed

Good morning Folks. Nice with against Wigan, stream finding proved tough on Saturday so those stats are helpful. We definitely are not clinical enough, and some of that revolves around who are chances fall too. Forshaw gets into great positions but hasn't scored yet. Harrison still needs that final ...

If everyone is fit I dont expect any changes.

I wont be able to follow this game due to prior commitments but I think this will be a draw. Which wouldn't be the end of the world.
