Re: What Now For Football?

I think the final verdict will depend more on the timing of when it is deemed safe for football to resume. If, as I suspect, it's somewhere around December 2020 I can't see the EFL accepting a leftover quarter season as the only football to be played for the year. I imagine they would rather start f...

Re: What Now For Football?

It really is a difficult dilemma and unbearably frustrating as a Leeds supporter with the team playing so splendidly and seemingly promotion-bound in its centenary season. Would hate for it to be cheapened by cutting it short or, god forbid, scrapped completely because of Covid. Still there really i...

Re: Album of 1976 - NOMINATE NOW

Oh, and as far as Sara goes, I think a very brief-ish time out would be appropriate. I missed her offending posts, but after sifting through the rubble of the thread in question I'm not surprised she lashed out. There was some baiting going on and from what I've seen she's a passionate poster. She's...

Re: Album of 1976 - NOMINATE NOW

Well, sh!t. Faaip and John already pillaged my top two with Ronstadt and Richman, so I suppose I'm going to have to make a protest nomination of sorts: 'Arrival' by ABBA. Money, Money, Money. Knowing Me, Knowing You. And the ageless epoch-defining Dancing Queen. Love it or hate it, it's an album for...

Re: Album of 2015 - BB Durly Gandi Ian John Norfolk Onemore 1304 to VOTE

Sorry, I am a bit swamped just now and have not had time to hear any of the submissions. The only ones already familiar to me are Kurt Vile (decent record) and Adele (not a fan). So in fairness, I will sit this one out.

Re: Album of 2015 - Onemore to NOMINATE

Apologies. I haven```t submitted because I have nothing for 2015. I had too much going on during the 20-teens to pay much attention to music. So I am curious to listen to what others have put forward.

Re: PL Preparations

Lol at this thread. Six matches ago everyone was making plans for life post-Bielsa. Guess what? A lot can change in six games. Even more in nine. While I have maintained for some time (and even in the worst times) this season that we will win the league, count me among the anti-chicken counte...

Re: Leeds Utd v Huddersfield Town Match Thread

Sorry you won't be making the match 64, though it sounds like sitting this one out is the right call. Get better soon. I think this contest will give us all a better sense of what we have in Meslier. I expect it's going to be a serious test for the kid. Hopefully he's up for it because if he falters...

Re: Breaking news - Casilla

To suggest Spanish people know our racist words is simply absurd. C'mon Weasel. I think you're being deliberately obtuse. Kiko is no ordinary Spanish person. He's a 34 year old world class footballer who has been exposed to players from international backgrounds for most of his career. Furthermore,...

Re: Breaking news - Casilla

I read through a good portion of the decision and written reasons and I'm satisfied Kiko very likely said what he is accused of and the suspension is appropriate. It's disappointing. If I were to give him the benefit of the doubt I would argue that perhaps owing to his cultural origins he might not ...

lol. don't get ahead of yourself. No fat ladies singing yet and a lot of football still to come. Just focus on winning one game at a time and the rest will look after itself.

Goal of the season: Harrison vs Reading (honorable mention to Klich's wondergoal vs Middlesborough) Match of the season: At Birmingham. What a circus that was! Top five players in no particular order: Klich, Phillips, Harrison, White, Dallas Biggest disappointments: Bamford, Foreshaw Improver of the...

Re: Album of 2005 - Norfolk & Onemore to NOMINATE

Yeah, it's a good record, but there was no shortage of recognition for it.

Some decent releases that year by a couple of my fav Canadian ladies: 'I'm a Mountain' by Sarah Harmer and Kathleen Edwards breakout album 'Back to Me'. Both worth checking out for the uninitiated.

Re: Album of 2005 - Norfolk & Onemore to NOMINATE

I was going to skip this one as 2005 was a more or less barren one for me. Gun to my head, I'd go Illinois by Sufjan Stevens but it's hardly unheralded.

Nice opening post cjay. You're convincing me to like him, but I'll like him a whole lot better if he loses gracefully to us on the weekend.
