Re: Leeds Utd v Aston Villa Match Thread - Klich fit, Costa in for Harrison

Even if several of the players are championship quality ( which I think is true in 3 or 4 cases ) it's not something particularly negative. It just means that on the whole those players have wrung every ounce of effort and ability out of themselves and have hit a natural ceiling which precludes the...

Re: Leeds Utd v Aston Villa Match Thread - Klich fit, Costa in for Harrison

What a dire game with the result not entirely surprising, considering the team we had out there. As for Robert's, he must be MB's love child or he loves a man bun. Really unsure as the why he doesn't give Gelhardt a run out, surely he couldn't do any worse.

Re: Sports Newsflash - India v England

On that wicket even playing with application your going to get at least one unplayable ball an over and to get your head down and battle it out doesn't really work. You need to push the field back and yo have to be aggressive. We probably batted better than India in the first innings too, they had ...

Yorkshire, Yorkshire, Yorkshire.
In fairness, it has been aided by some horrendous batting from England. Too much of 'one day' mindset and a distinct lack of application.

Re: Up to 5 signings

I think we need an injection of reality when we talk about replacing the likes of Ayling. The next level involves clubs that spend up to 50 million on full backs, and pays them up to 200k a week. Even a "selling club" like Leicester will spend 20 million plus on a full back and pay them the bones o...

Mountain wrote: Thu Feb 25, 2021 3:24 am Strongly disagree that getting rid of players like Cooper, Ayling and Klich and signing a slew of players all very the pitch would be either positive or needed.
I don't think it will happpend straight away with those players highlighted, but they will eventually be phased out.

Re: Up to 5 signings

For the 1st team next summer. Phil has mentioned how the dm is more likely to be to backup KP rather than replace. That being said it could be a 8/4 kind of like a Forshaw just much better, so somebody who can cover and maybe.ultimately replace Klich who is in his 30s now. We know a left back is li...

Some truth in that, but they're not rejects if they want to move on to a better club/escape from a bad club or if their contracts are up and they don't want the same-old, or just fancy pastures new. Unfortunately we've had a lot of dross in the past, journey men or others trying to reignite their c...

Another defeat, a lot of huff and puff but other than Raph, the quality really isn't there.

Re: Beating a high press.

These two attached pics highlight the problems that the defence and keeper face when dealing with a high press ( sorry, they are the wrong way round the first pic is at the bottom ! ) Saka has cleverly positioned himself between Meslier and Cooper so that he is blocking the route to Cooper, and is ...

I should hope he is under orders as the only way to improve is by continuing to do it and get better at it. If he is to become top notch at distribution then these painful episodes are all part of the learning process. By continuing to try to play out every time he will either sink or swim but if h...

Re: Is this really entertaining ?

As for that comment, if our fans are not allowed to be critical of certain aspects of our games we may as well go home leaving MOT to the happy clappers. Absolutely 1964, sometimes it feels like the 'Thought Police' are on here. I don't think I'd ever take a 6-2 humiliation by Manure over a draw, n...

Negatives: More Sunday League defending, aided by a keeper who all too often gets beaten on his near post.

Postive: It could have been far worse.

Agreed, sentiment aside, he's had enough chances to impress and rarely does. We have too many passengers at the moment, hopefully next season we should have more depth of quality.

Absolutely, at least this has been one of the positives, the lad has seized his opportunity. It's also good to see that we have restored a measure of pride this second half!
