Re: Qatar World Cup 2022 - Tunisia v Australia. 10am

Lacklustre performance from England last night, they all just seemed to play at half pace with no urgency and very little intent. They offered the USA too much room to play in, England certainly need to be better in the next round, whether they are actually capable of upping their game against bette...

Certainly won’t be easy. 2-1 I’d say. To….
Yes I know Jay.

As you say could be a close game tonight, England will need to be at their best.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 25th November) Leeds linked with €100m Brazilian forward

£86m - no chance! De Ketelaere, not sure I’d want him anyway, he burnt his bridges when he chose Milan over us, as far as I’m concerned. Funnily enough I kind of agree with Robinson to some extent. I’m not suggesting that Marsch would do this, but if he were to insist on buying players just because ...

He could buy us for a fraction of the price and then spend the balance on helping us win the league.

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022. Belgium v Canada

Unlucky Canada. Very open game, they gave as good as they got and deserved to get something from that match. Particularly impressed with Davies a player not afraid to have a go at a bit of old fashioned dribbling round the opposition instead of just passing round them.

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022. Spain v Costa Rica

Im not gonna belabor this, but, out of curiosity, do you draw any limit to the reasonableness of excluding politics? For example, would you have let Russia continue qualification? Well, I suppose if I were to continue my stance that politics should not interfere in sport in any shape or form, then ...

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022. Spain v Costa Rica

When it's in the US, all we'll hear about is abortion. If it was in England, they'd have something to complain about too. Doesn't really matter who hosts it, do gooders will try to make it about them. Yes, you could have a point there SG90, which is why I’m desperate for football, all sport in fact...

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022. Spain v Costa Rica

Germany lost I see, oh dear, what a shame, never mind! With Spain to play next up they really are in danger of going out before the knockout stages, in fact before the final game of the league stage. I can’t see Japan not beating Costa Rica on today’s evidence so if they lose to Spain then it’s good...

👍🏼Caroline Aherne was a brilliant writer. The Royle Family was Incredibly funny and beautifully observed. If people haven’t seen The Royle Family they should watch the Xmas specials. Sad that she died so young. Loved Early Doors. Crime won’t crack itself. Quality “Crime won’t crack itself” - qualit...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 23rd November) - Could the end of Mateusz Klich's time at Elland Road be in si

If Marc Roca ever reaches the required level then Klich at 32 is dispensable. Klich is a player who needs regular games to reach first team standard so judging him on one performance after weeks of inactivity is ridiculous to anyone with an understanding of how form and fitness need to be built up....

You know the Royle Family line Sara? “Hey Twiggy do you want a Snowball” “Na I hate all that shite Barb” “How about an Advocaat & lemonade” “Go on then” The Royle Family was a fantastic sitcom, written by Caroline Aherne, Craig Cash and Phil Mealey. Does anyone remember Early Doors, another fab...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 23rd November) Klich wants out

Thank you Klichy for years of sterling service at Leeds United. If you feel you need to leave and get more game time elsewhere then I wish you well, but don’t be falling out over it. If Marsch doesn’t think you’re up to it then either stay and strive to prove him wrong or just leave gracefully, it w...

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022 - Denmark v Tunisia

That was a big issue for those guys, unlike the wearing of a rainbow armband, that we then bottled out of. It certainly was and good on ‘em for trying to shed light on the iniquities in their own country. I’m glad we ducked out of the armband thing and just wish we’d also duck out of the knee bendi...

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022 - Denmark v Tunisia

How the f**k are Wales ranked in the top 20? They brought on a player yesterday who plays in League 1! The rankings are based on a team’s results and therefore performances and as such are constantly subject to change. The rankings used above are current (probably before the World Cup started) and ...

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022 - Denmark v Tunisia

As a matter of interest (or not) as the case maybe, I’ve done a little calculating to find out the comparative strengths, on paper, of each of the groups in the World Cup. The calculations are based on the current world rankings of each team, which when added together gives a total for each group, t...

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022 - Argentina v Saudi Arabia

I enjoy a good giant killing. Every tournament needs a couple of David and Goliath results and this is definitely one of them. Well done to the Saudis, riches of Croesus but a comparative minnow compared to Argentina in football terms.

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022 - Argentina v Saudi Arabia

I don't think I saw the pens but the lack of consistency this World Cup has been poor. Just have a quick watch of the highlights Cjay, it really is shocking. I wish VAR had to explain and justify their decisions during or after the game. Saudis have just scored again, brilliant goal - interesting!

Re: Qatar World Cup 2022 - Argentina v Saudi Arabia

By the way, I’ve just watch the highlights of the England game and the contrast between Maguire’s penalty claim early on which was not given and Iran’s late penalty claim which was given is quite shocking. The fact that there is a great (possibly insidious) inconsistency in refereeing/VAR couldn’t ...
