Re: Is it time to stop taking the knee...?

You hate what clearly matters to Kalvin Phillips and the other "pampered millionaires" so much that you don't care if he and they lose? Do we really know what Kalvin or any other player, for that matter, actually thinks about this? He may be in favour, he may not but of course he will conform and s...

Re: Is it time to stop taking the knee...?

For the 1st time ever in my life I find myself not particularly caring how England will fair. Up until now, as an old fashioned patriot, I have always been willing England to do well and hoping against hope that one day we would go on to win a major tournament again. This time though, I am totally a...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 9th June) - Leeds turn attention to Ajax ace

We were always basing our case for JKA on a technicality, i.e. a date set that was only missed purely due to the unprecedented pandemic, but there again a date set in the contract is a date set regardless of extenuating circumstances. However, It was always going to be a bit of a long shot especiall...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 8th June) - Leeds Target Perraud bound for St Mary's

Do you mean a fee of £18.5m (not 8.5m) would secure the deal for Perraud Elland? Presumably we are not prepared to pay that much and Southampton are. Surely if the player himself had the choice he wouldn’t choose Southampton!

Re: Back to the Very Beginning

Great post Moth. I wasn’t on this forum then but remember watching that game against Stoke at the local cricket club, along with quite a few other Leeds fans (EBCC as it happens Ratty), and still recall the disbelief on faces, raised eye brows and quizzical glances at each other even after the first...

Re: Leeds United v West Brom - Rate the Ref

I’ve seen worse refereeing performances than this, but by no means good so 4/10. Booking Kalvin for a perfectly fair (but hard) tackle was pretty pathetic. I certainly wouldn’t mark him up for the penalty decision either, he had no option but to give it, it was that obvious. It’s the less clear cut ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 24th May) Leeds sign off in style

A great day all round. An easy and comprehensive victory, an emotional and proper send off for Pablo and Bera and even Phillips injury late on, which might be bad for England (and Phillips himself, of course), but I can’t help thinking it might be a boon to Leeds for next season.

Re: Leeds United v West Bromwich Albion - 3-1 - MOTM

Berardi - great game, calm and steady as you like and a nice assist to boot Hernandez - always involved, his team mates working hard to try and help him to score. Shame he was off for the pen! Raphinha - looked dangerous throughout WB couldn’t cope Rodrigo - getting better all the time and a sharply...

Re: Sunday's LUFC Breakfast Debate - A sad day at ER.

Where will you be watching the game? At home (probably by a dodgy stream!) Will you be singing 'Marching On Together' & other Leeds songs as you hear 8,000 fans creating a great atmosphere at Elland Road? Probably not - can’t sing for toffee! Should Pablo & Gaetano start? I think so and then taken ...

Re: Pablo Hernandez

The performance that sticks in my mind was the one versus Millwall 2019 I think! We came from behind twice to beat them 3-2 in the end, Pablo scoring 2 goals. But his overall performance that day, including dragging his team back into the game twice, was one of the best I’ve seen from a single playe...

Re: Southampton v Leeds United - Rate the Ref

I think the crux of the matter is that the keeper didn’t get to the ball. If he had have got to the ball, or even touched it, before knocking Bamford off his balance then, fair enough, no penalty. But in this case, as it appeared in real time and confirmed in slow motion, the keeper never even touch...

£26m wow, thanks for that EB very generous! I’ll just bank it for now ta while I think of what to spend it on. When do you think it might be available? I’ve warmed to Rodrigo over these last 3 games, had been unsure up till then but as other posters have said, he must be decent if he’s a Spanish int...

Re: Southampton v Leeds United - Rate the Ref

Not a disastrous game but definitely a homer. Too many bookings for our players for very little, too many dives by their players which were rewarded. Bambi’s penalty was obvious in real time in my opinion, if he had have gone down I’m sure it would have been given. As people have said if the Ref mis...

Re: Southampton v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Casilla, Cooper and Rodrigo all start

It was a fairly even 1st half last night, could have gone either way. Then with those changes at half time I thought we’d given up on the game but how wrong I was, from the start of the 2nd half there was only going to be one winner. The man is a genius, simple as that!!!
