Re: Today's Games

Penny for the thoughts of Ruben Amorim. 6 months ago he was probably with Xabi Alonso the most highly rated young manager in Europe. Xabi Alonso is the new Real Madrid manager. Amorim has averaged less than 1ppg for Manchester United and like Ten Hag his previous glowing reputation is in tatters ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 21st May) Wrexham have no interest whatsoever in Bamford

Not much of a scouting department at Wrexham if they haven't heard of a former England striker, who previously scored 16 PL goals in a season and has recently been plying his trade in the division above them.

Do they always talk nonsense and expect to be believed.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 21st May) Wrexham have no interest whatsoever in Bamford

Maybe a call to Orta at Seville telling him we have a top striker surplus to requirements - after all he bought Bamford from Middlesbrough and with his record of top transfer dealings might just take the bait. Victor Orta was very good at identifying top young talent for us so maybe we should be ...

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)

But we should. Tanaka is a poor DMF imo, better than Rothwell but not in Gruev/Amapadu's class. Ampedu could play on his own as a holding midfielder but Gruev and Tanaka most likely could not. The best we've had in that role in recent years was Tyler Adams and not Kalvin Phillips who had purple ...

Let's hope not as we don't play the same system as when Kalvin was last here. Plus you could argue that Tanaka and Ampedu are just as good and most likely quite a bit better than the current Kalvin Phillips.

Re: FA Cup/EFL Cup - Palace or Citeh?

But won't happen again for a long while, unless the Saudis keep spending. Expect normal service to resume next year, as the greedy 6 have had pretty terrible seasons. Even Liverpool have just been the best of a bad bunch, rather than anything outstanding. You might be right but on the other hand ...

Re: Experience is essential in the Premier League.

Then we should sack DF and bring in a proven successful Premier league manager  Sean Dyche :) I don't think signing a load of Premier League has beens is the way forward. Leicester must have plenty of Premier league experience, Vardy, Coady, Winks, Pereira, Vestergaard, Ayew, Ndidi got to ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 19th May) Academy cull in Leeds end of season retained list

Not recruiting for the under 21's. But we are nurturing players at a younger age to progress to that level. We still have several good players in the youths We're not actively going out and paying fees for potential though like Orta did for; Meslier Summerville Struijk Joffy Greenwood Joseph Gnonto

Re: Re: PGA Championship 2025 Competition

Scheffler also had to change his driver and as he'd been using it for nearly 12 months it wasn't ideal timing either. The thing with Scottie is though he didn't play as well as he can but it's that mental strength which always gives him a chance.

The awards where on a Sunday and we were playing on the Monday so Farke couldn't attend to accept the award was probably the reason.

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?

All I'm doing is saying context is important when judging managers. Trophy or not Tottenham fans will still consider Ange one of the worst managers they've had in modern history (they are having this discussion on their forum now). Because they shouldn't be anywhere near relegation with the squad ...

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?

Clubs with more money are more likely to succeed than those without? In basically every league a league position and wage budget will track very close together. If you are a manager able to buck that trend you have done a very good job imo. Bielsa did it with us for example 1st Premier League ...

But Brescia are screaming corruption
Jeez don't say that.

If we had to face Southampton to go up we'd lose even though the Saints only have 12 points for the season.

Italian football is insane.

A lifeline for Sampdoria . . .

And who owns Brescia? Massimo Cellino
Does that mean now they have play off match to avoid relegation ?

Think so but not exactly sure how it works.

Yes and well deserved as English wasn't an easy one to pick out but by finishing at -6 has proved to be an inspired choice.
