Many thanks to Jaydog for running an excellent competition once again.
Also to Jim for a fine victory.

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
The awards where on a Sunday and we were playing on the Monday so Farke couldn't attend to accept the award was probably the reason. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 8:18 am Wonder what the thinking on that was... did they toss a coin?

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
All I'm doing is saying context is important when judging managers. Trophy or not Tottenham fans will still consider Ange one of the worst managers they've had in modern history (they are having this discussion on their forum now). Because they shouldn't be anywhere near relegation with the squad ...

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
Clubs with more money are more likely to succeed than those without? In basically every league a league position and wage budget will track very close together. If you are a manager able to buck that trend you have done a very good job imo. Bielsa did it with us for example 1st Premier League ...

Re: Radrizzani at Sampdoria
Jeez don't say that.
If we had to face Southampton to go up we'd lose even though the Saints only have 12 points for the season.

Yes and well deserved as English wasn't an easy one to pick out but by finishing at -6 has proved to be an inspired choice. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 7:15 pm Harris English's birdie blitz will see Jim the MOT PGA champion I think.

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
PL this season;
Everton 10 wins...13th
West Ham 10 wins...15th
Man U 10 wins...16th
Wolves lost 19...14th
Spurs lost 21...17th
Absolutely crazy how few wins you need plus how many losses you can incur and still stay up.

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
We're going to need some sort of consistency of positive results next season as going on long runs without winning just kills everything and becomes a nasty habit. Win one, lose one, draw one, lose another one and then win one would be absolutely fine and likely see us achieve 40 plus points.

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
My knowledge of his time at Borussia Mönchengladbach is limited (or atleast dulled its been years since i did any real research) but at the time he had the lowest points total for over a decade I think it was. Whether he was judged fairly or not is upto opinion but the Mönchengladbach fans couldn't ...

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
At the very least he's shown an ability to succeed in a top league and he had even less backing than Daniel Farke and did it immediately. Will be interesting to see how he gets on next season. Often you've posted about how Farke messed up his big opportunity at Borussia Monchengladbach and it's ...

Re: Mateo Joseph
Betis can probably afford to gamble with Joseph as they are unlikley to challenge for the title but also unlikely to be battling relegation. Sort of like how Brighton and Bournemouth can now gamble on players because it wouldn't likely wreck their season if that player flopped. If we started Joseph ...

Re: Mateo Joseph
He's not, quick, strong, good vision and touch and, imo, a natural finisher. Needs to improve both his movement and timing of runs into the box because at the moment he tends to run near post nearly all the time. Once he mixes that up and becomes more difficult to mark the goals should start to ...

Re: Who is the best manager in the championship?
Never been his biggest fan but turning round 3 separate teams and arguably overachieving with the players you have whilst ownership and off field turmoil goes on around you is highly impressive. Doesn't win you trophies but in context it shows a very decent manager. Basically done a Bielsa in terms ...

Re: Mateo Joseph
I can’t see Joseph commanding those sort of fees, unless he has an outstanding season at Betis or wherever. Personally I’d sell now, generate some cash to spend and let the lad get some game time. He won’t play much in the PL, should he stay. You're assuming he won't play much based upon this seaso ...

Re: Mateo Joseph
Joseph might be worth £40M ++ in a season's time given the scarcity of centre forwards though. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 1:42 pm Wierd isn't it... I guess it might be a PPR thing, profit on Joseph would be pure profit I think...
That's what they are quoting for Delap at Ipswich anyway.
