Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
Solomon would be fine as a late add, around 15M? (and for me he's worth double the amount Longstaff is). Solomon has been with us a season so a lot less "bedding in" That 15M can be left untouched till the last minute but it doesn't stop us using the rest of our transfer funds. The 49ers don't ...

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
Must admit I’m feeling similar, the activity seems to have stalled. The only thing I’m clinging to is that it sometimes pays to wait till further in the window when other clubs get their business done and players start to become available - Newcastle might need to free up funds and if spurs get gib ...

Re: Jack Harrison
No Orta/Rads and we're not here now, we'd still be a mid table championship team witgh no memories of Bielsa, Raphinha et al to sustain us. Even the last promotion had a lot to do with what Rads and Orta put in place... They weren't perfect, but nor are the Niners.. Probably worth noting that we ...

Totally agree.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 9:54 am Can’t say I’m particularly concerned with the steady Eddie approach.
I’d rather take our time and get it right, than rushing and getting it wrong.
Our best signing last time around (after promotion) didn't happen until the last few days of the window.

Re: Jack Harrison
Given that Orta must have been behind offering Bamford a 5 year contract on zillions a year, very likely it must have been the same with Harrison. I wonder how much the JKA fiasco and the signing of Bamford and Harrison on 5 year contracts has cost the club in total ? Probably a lot more than Radz ...

Don't think Longstaff would see himself as back up to be honest. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 9:18 am Is it worth it for a back up centre mid?
lets focus on Stach, he would be a good signing

Re: Jack Harrison
Quite a conundrum is this Jack Harrison. Can't imagine that he wants to be at Leeds United, Leeds United seemingly don't particularly want him nor do they have a slot where he could fit in effectively or as the manager might want / need. many fans don't want him wearing the shirt again. Perhaps he ...

Re: Jack Harrison
I would say with Aaronsen it is also down to the price we paid for him and what we expected. Orta bigged him up (remember the video clip with Orta creaming himself in fron tof the fans about signing Aaronsen). For £25m+ I think we all expected a lot more than a player who puts in a great shift but ...

Re: Jack Harrison
Indeed. If his wages are around the £90k mark then it costs around £5m per year to keep him. But would we get better than him for £5m which would include the transfer fee and any wages? Clearly we wouldn't. Last season showed the value of having 4 good wide players as it's a necessity to share the w ...

Re: Jack Harrison
BBC reporting Everton would want Harrison back if we let him go on a free. https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/jack-harrison.120143/page-130 Everton fans are absolutely thrilled. There will come a point where we're better off keeping him. Strengthening a rival for free just doesn't make any ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 8th July) - Leeds intensify pursuit of Stach and Longstaff
We can find posts like that for almost every player. I'm a huge Willy Gnonto fan, we have members here think he's rubbish and should be gone.. I'm always happy to change my mind, I didn't on Rothwell because he never did enough for me bar 15 minutes in one game, he was just a body on the pitch for ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 8th July) - Leeds intensify pursuit of Stach and Longstaff
If these latest signings happen then we're building a really solid foundation which makes me think that Jack Harrison would be a good fit with his strong work ethic. Shame he seemed to burn his bridges but if there was anyway we could reintegrate him then maybe we should consider it. Aaronson as ...

Re: 2025 Open Championship Competition
Thanks Jammy 👍🏼 I like a player to get a top 20 at the Scottish not necessarily be in the mix. Its why I backed Brian Harman a few years ago. Just sharpens up the links game. My choices have taken into account our overall competition leaderboard. However if those currently ahead make similar selec ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 7th July) - Leeds on the brink of landing Gudmundsson
Then left when we were relegated at the first opportunity! Any player that doesn't want to help us get back up can go for me... Completely agree but £7m is ridiculously cheap and we should insist on a least double that. Doesn't have to be Everton remember and for a mere £15M someone else can have a ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 7th July) - Leeds on the brink of landing Gudmundsson
Harrison came from Man City who throw out £70,80k a week on a whim. He will be on a lot more than people expect I'd think. Personally I think Harrison is like Bamford, hard working, looks fine in a team which gives them lots of chances to score or create. In a less attacking team you see how really ...
