Re: Does Hull City defeat reveal an alarming lack of depth in Leeds United’s squad?

What this proves to me, not that I needed proof, was that we are some ways short of having a competitive second 11 like the big teams do. No shame in that, we are light years behind them. People are disappointed in the performance and the result, but we need to be realistic about the sort of squad w...

Despite the boss favouring Kent, I'd prefer Wilson too. Has Prem experience, good dead ball skills and Liverpool's previous reluctance to sell him suggests they think he has something.

Re: Leeds United v Hull City - MATCH THREAD - Bielsa makes eleven changes

Nick, so you are saying we are incapable of consolidating a place in the PL & going on a cup run in the same season The big boys have stronger 2nd teams than ourselves Not only the top six teams goal is to win the PL they also have matches to play in the European competitions plus finishing in the ...

Re: Leeds United v Hull City - MATCH THREAD - Bielsa makes eleven changes

Has anyone else on here actually followed the Haribo cup over the last few seasons? The big boys, with massive squads and the funds to keep massive squads and compete on several fronts, play their fringe players until it gets to the sharp and then, more times than not, throw the big hitters in for t...

De Paul yes, not sure we need Gvardiol with Struijk looking like he can cover CB. If it's a choice between the two, then it has to be the 10 role.

New and fringe players for me tonight, give them some game time.

Re: Positives & Negatives (one of each please)

Pablo has had off days before, he usually responds with 2 or 3 stormers ...plus he was probably their guy to keep quiet. That's true and I'm certainly not writing him off, but I think Bielsa will have to pick and choose which games to start him in. He looked lost yesterday, something that was hard ...

Re: Player Ratings v Liverpool (a)

Meslier - 7.5, good game, good feet, couple of excellent saves (especially stopping the Struijk miss kick). Docked him half a point as thought he should have been coming and punching the cross that lead to Salah's second. Ayling - 8, usual energy and drive, kept Mane quiet for most of the game Dalla...

Indeed. Feels churlish to pick holes in what was a very solid team performance, but those little moments will see us punished more so than they perhaps would have in the championship.

Re: Liverpool v Leeds United - MATCH THREAD - Cooper out, Struijk starts

I came away from that game with a sense of disappointment, that's how well we played. I was hoping for a performance, a feel that we weren't interlopers, that we belonged at the big table. We got that and more, pushed one of the best teams in world football all the way and were undone by a trypical ...

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season

On yesterday's evidence, we need a 10 more than a cb. Struijk will be fine there as cover. An experienced keeper on a free willing to play back-up would be useful but maybe not essential. Not sure we need much more at this stage, to be honest.
