Re: Could You Ever Stop Supporting Leeds ?

I've done it before. In the mid-80s I was sick of that second division crap so I started following Everton and went back to Leeds when we got promoted. This time I've stuck around for longer because I've found fellow fans on the Net but if we don't go up this season I'll be looking for a new team a...

Re: Warnock dinner do tonight.

Obviously im not going to be sitting there hoping we lose... i always want to win.... but i'm sure you get my point. I dread transfer windows under Bates :? I do get your point, the sooner we're out of the picture (or not, as the case may be), the sooner he can maybe experiment, see if any of the a...

Re: Warnock dinner do tonight.

Part of me just hopes we lose tonight, results DONT go our way, and i can just forget about this write-off of a football season... and look forward to what's ahead. I think it would do me good to forget about Bates, Grayson, Howson, Warnock for a while.. Easier said than done, mate. Like you ...

Re: Warnock dinner do tonight.

I hope you're right.. Trust me, i would happily eat my words if it meant Leeds assembling a squad capable of promotion... nothing would make me happier than to be 100% wrong about Bates. *fingers crossed* Me too Silky, me too. No matter what our views on how our club is run, who the manager is etc,...

Re: Warnock dinner do tonight.

The optimist in me says Bates will, now that the refurbs are finished, back Warnock to a reasonable degree come the summer, and I also choose to believe that NW wil have sought and got some assurances when he took on the job. The pessimist in me fears that the funds Bates hands Warnock will be garne...

Re: Man City

I have no affection for Manchester City as a football club.... but i do hope they win the league.... Not for all these band-wagoners that have shown up in the last 18 months, but for those old guys that have been following City for 50 years without any glory. What a day it will be for them if they ...

Re: Promised Land

I know some folk on here enjoy a good book. Can I recommend "Promised Land" by Anthony Clavane. This book is not only about our Club, but about the history of the City of Leeds and the life of a Leeds supporter. Puts last nights result into some sort of context with the rest of the history of LUFC....

Re: Clayton & Luci not fit enough to play two games a week

First bit of [football] sense we've heard from Warnock. The team isn't fit enough. The game 'v' WHU was far more demanding than normal. For me it was a bit like a cup game - lower league side playing a top side has to play at 100% and nothing less for 90 minutes. For me we were struggling to stay i...

Re: Leeds v Forest

Oh that one? So the bates protests were bullshit right? Not sure what you mean, Ems?? My own view was/is that the bates protests were justified. I posted elsewhere on this site that, by appointing Warnock, he had finally done something for the good of LUFC and NOT Ken Bates. However, I was reservin...

Re: Leeds v Forest

How can people not see, Chairmen sell players, Managers do not (with very few exceptions) have anything to do with money! SG got shafted by the Chairman, NW is going to as well. Selling our best and taking in what is cheap for far to long. Well said Mav. No matter what some apologists on this forum...

Re: Leeds v Forest

WTF! How can a team/defence that has looked so much more solid under Warnock ship SEVEN against one of the worst teams in this league???? Colin wanted one last challenge, by fupp he's got one. Embarassed to be a Leeds fan tonight, this season can't finish soon enough. What the club do in the summer ...

Re: Paul Connolly

Credit to the bloke who was told he'd never play for the club again after the Barnsley fiasco Well Larry had to blame someone, the whole team didn't turn up at Oakwell but Paul took the brunt of Grayson's criticism  Yesterday he put in solid performance even chipping in with an assist for Be...

Re: What has Warnock done to O'Dea ?

My brother is a big Rangers fan ( ) and has lived in Glasgow on and off for the last 6 years. I asked him about O'Dea when we took him on loan, expecting an old firm type diatribe about just how sh*t he was, but he rated him. Again, didn't show a lot to merit that rating under Larry, though I ...

Re: Paul Robinson MK 2

Or maybe Grayson just couldn't get the best out of the players he signed? Fair point mate. Something happened between Grayson and the squad in the last months of his tenure, he had lost that dressing room. Perhaps they saw that he was out of his depth in terms of taking us to the next level, who kn...
