Re: Kiko Casilla

Yes Ali being so tall and heavy set tends to dominate small goalkeepers... Kiko needs to use some muscle and let people know he is in charge at the back.  The taking charge thing might well be a huge factor in this. Can anyone remind me after which game the whole racism charge thing began?

Re: MB Press Conference Pre Forest

I've said from day one we needed a proper striker in the summer, had we signed the right No.9 then we'd have been walking this league by now. No good relying on the notorious January window as we have done in the last two seasons. Had I the choice, I would definitely have kept Roofe over Bamford bu...

Would be nice if those sort of questions occurred
Totally agree. It would be good to have evidence presented to counter some popular notions and gain an insight into Bielsa's reasoning. As Rab said, it seems the press are just looking at Twitter and going for cheap fan reactions.

Re: MB Press Conference Pre Forest

Interesting press conference that. MB really does take criticism to heart and its nice he takes the time to explain his view (regardless of whether you agree or not). Simple fact is managers get criticised when results arent going well (9 games 1ppg is relegation form pure and simple). Pep, Klopp, ...

Re: MB Press Conference Pre Forest

So why mislead our fans in the first place. The simple fact is if Augustin & Poveda aren't fit to play we haven't improved our squad until their presence is seen on the pitch which could be weeks down the line, in fact squad numbers-wise we are weaker. Two months wasted when we required an immediat...

Re: Nottingham Forest v Leeds Utd Match Thread

why the hell did we get him? very frustrating that we needed a striker and got (what looks like) a decent one, but he's not going to be able to play until easter because he's not played regularly for 8 months. That just doesn't make sense. You're forgetting we were going all out for Che Adams to th...

Re: Nottingham Forest v Leeds Utd Match Thread

We were scoring some brilliant goals on the break, dried up of late Again, a direct consequence of our poor defence post-Cardiff. Hull and Reading alone, off the top of my head, goalless till later on, opposition comes forward to try and bag one, we counter and score. We concede first and that's it...

Re: MB Press Conference Pre Forest

Kinnear is quoted as saying in the YEP: " We believe that both Augustin and Poveda have the ability to make an immediate impact to an already strong squad that has put us in a fantastic position but, as importantly, we have signed two players of undoubted Premier League quality. This was a critical...

Re: Nottingham Forest v Leeds Utd Match Thread

I haven’t had time but will check later. Just wondering what actually produces most goals? High possession? Pressing and winning it back? I can think of one goal, the one v Brum in the home game. Set pieces? Break away? Off the top of my head break away has yielded quite well but I’ll check later. ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 6th Feb) - Leading Psychotherapist claims 'something has gone wrong' at Elland Road

Part 2. Bamford isn’t the only one struggling in front of goal but Wigan was 4 days after Millwall, so surely his confidence should have been supercharged. But he still looked off. He will start tomorrow but the two wingers will need to produce more end product. Ogy seems to have signed for WBA Goo...

Re: Nottingham Forest v Leeds Utd Match Thread

Form guide doesn't interest me. Millwall were a form team and we beat them, Wigan weren't and they beat us. Forest play more to our strengths and I'm pretty confident we can beat them with our existing team. Bielsa has already gone on the record by saying Poveda is ready for action so I'd hope to se...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 6th Feb) Leading Psychotherapist claims 'something significant has gone wrong' at E

An interesting perspective, though I'm a bit suspicious that this psychotherapist's analysis boils down to 'this manager wins because he let's me do what I want and this one doesn't because he wouldn't let me do what I want'. It's strange because he makes good points, then subtly self-advertises, gi...

Yes, hard to split Klich and Harrison but the former takes it for me, the most consistent in every half of every game.

If that's what it takes to psyche yourself and your teammates up then by all means, and I don't think what he said was incorrect by any stretch. Balls to the other teams, the best way to play is without fear of them. Give us more 2nd half v. Millwall and we're sorted.

Re: The highs and lows of a promotion campaign

I remember that Wilko promotion season well and the despair at times when it looked like we were blowing it. So many ups and downs and there was still the recent despair of losing in extra time of the FA Cup Semi Final and in extra time of the Play-Off Final replay after leading 1-0 in the memory o...

Optimistic? 7. Realistic? 5. I do expect us to still have a cushion after these games, possibly top by a point.

So HOPE as ever we can do it again Harry
There will be a point where we as fans will have to make a choice, to either froth with discontent or simply throw our hope behind what we have, while we still have it. Only one of those will spur the team on to promotion.

Re: The highs and lows of a promotion campaign

This is why I might get down after a poor result but absolutely won't give up hope, won't panic, won't succumb to fear and doubt so long as our promotion chances are alive in any way, shape or form. No matter how good the team is in the Championship, maybe unless they're purpose-built Premier League...
