I also picked up 2 CD's yesterday 64, but beat you as 50p each, but BOGOF so 50p for both.

Firstly, Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables (Special 25th Anniversary Edition CD-DVD), and....

Secondly, Various - Cooking Vinyl Sampler Vol.7 (1998) - which must be worth 25p if for nothing else than the wonderfully titled 'The Undertaker and the Hippy Protest Singer' by Carter USM. Most of the others on there I've never heard of though...………..they could be rubbish :duno:

Nice one 😃 I haven't got Fresh Fruit....on my shelves. I use to enjoy artists on the Cooking Vinyl label so could be some other decent songs on there Cat

Julian Cope - Black Sheep (2008 double); and
Billy Bragg & Wilco - Mermaid Avenue

Never heard them and could be rubbish, but only 20p each and both like new.
Bargains!

I'd enjoy them Cat, unsure if Cope & Bragg are your taste :duno:

Let me know

Three more Simone albums recently acquired 8-)

Nina Simone 'Pastel Blues/Let It All Out'
Nina Simone 'Tell It Like It Is' .....the title song will be one of my 70's nominations next time round in the Mega-Song Poll, absolutely gorgeous

Pixies 'Head 'Carrier' - this band rarely disappoints

Faith Brothers 'Eventide' - a nice little surprise this one recommended by Durly who comes up with some cracking albums

Big Country 'Steeltown'

SaraM wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:23 pm Been revisiting Placebo. Not managed to get going on the Hold Steady yet. Had a quick dip, but it sounds like something I need to be in the mood for (as with most music). Otherwise been listening to:

Flux - Uncarved Block
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
John Martyn - One World
The Cure - 17 Seconds
Virgin Prunes - If I Die, I Die
Sara, I'm a big fan of Flux. That album is really great and a big departure from the straightforward, anarchy punk of Flux Of Pink Indians. I saw them when they re-formed for the Steve Ignorant, Crass Feeding of The 5000 thing at Shepherds Bush back in 2007 and they were brilliant. They ignored Uncarved Block era stuff though. Would have loved to have seen them in that period of their work.

I've been hammering the debut album by Crows this past couple of weeks. Cracking and, along with The Delines, is competing for my 'favourite album of the year so far" tag.

I've never seen them, and this is the only album I have. It's one of those things that just captures a certain time and a certain point in your life. I'm still an old anarchist punk at heart, so there's the nostalgia, but it also helps to stop me from getting too complacent.

And I cling desperately to my last two beliefs
Firstly, I believe in nothing and in nothing
Secondly, I believe in everything and in everything.

It's not a popular opinion but I really like Gift. An excellent record........especially as it was only really made in spite and as a way of stopping Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams (big Leeds fan) using the name.
