The seagulls will also be in our min-league hopefully.

Wish we had had the balls to be that bold with Raph/Phillips! Truth be told, we wre struggling and needed the money: hence, in real-time, we've spent £2m (after sales) for unproven players...

Indeed, our squad was so threadbare, we had to sell our only two quality players, so we could increase the size of our playing staff as we couldn't afford to stand still this summer.

Agree problem is this sell to buy basis could backfire on us eventually,

Impressive £15m signing, can defend & get forward, played 35 PL games, so naturally attracting suitors unlike our left-back whom wouldn't attract a glance from a top club or any other club to be fair.

Another player we are lumbered with & just hope he comes good.

Big difference in that we wanted to conclude the deals quickly so we had money to spend strengthening a squad that barely stayed up. We may have sat around to this point in the transfer window and still have an unhappy KP and Raphinha but not been able to sell. We then sell now and maybe net an extra £10m but are then scrambling around to buy players and integrate them into the squad. Plus other teams would be putting their prices up now as they would also have less time to bring in replacements so we maybe sell for an extra £10m but then are paying a couple of million extra per player that we bring in. We also don't know with the KP deal how much we'd have had to pay for Gyabi if we'd just been trying to buy him outright. Maybe he wasn't even for sale originally., maybe they were looking at £10m+

...but we're a premier league club now, we've been back for two years...we shouldn't need to desperately sell in order to bring replacements in...

i know it's not as simple as that but you set a deadline for others to put in an acceptable offer for your player otherwise they stay - even if the player is not happy and you take a bit of a hit having an unhappy player, it works out in the long run because clubs know that they can't take your players on the cheap

A big part of our signjng strategy is that we can now show prospective players that they can improve under our management and perhaps get that dream move like KP and Raph did.

Your approach of standing in a players way could hurt that whole strategy and in fact stifle our recruitment. What ambitious you player would favour Leeds if such a glass ceiling was in place?

In the pecking order we are nowhere near the top unfortunately.

And it isnt a lack of ambition it is where we are currently.
