Eugene pops up on a great Scottish indie documentary which is (I think) on Amazon Prime. Mostly about his time in The Vaselines.

I never got to see Nirvana, sadly.

I had tickets to see them in 94, but the gig was postponed when Kurt overdosed in Rome.

About a month after that he committed suicide. ( Or was murdered )

F*ck me you can't get any better than that...... Brilliant appraisal of the bollox we are indoctrinated with. Ironically, i do think the ONE LOVE message is the right thread being used by the wrong people. Trust love above everything else and if you really understand,,,, there's no need for drama.

Anyone watched The Beatles Get Back documentary. On Disney Plus over here. Just watched and thought it was great.

It's 3 parts and 8 hours of playtime. Some of the rehearsals and repetition can be a little extraneous. But it's brilliant to watch how they sat down, jammed and built songs from scratch. Brilliant to see Billy Preston with them in the studio.

And despite all the talk of John and Paul fighting the camaraderie was great. They have many moments of jamming and fooling around and making each other laugh. I'm guessing they kind of decided at this stage that they just needed to get down to business (especially with the financial failings if Apple). But the friendship and bond is completely plain to see.

Despite being immersed in everything Beatles, I've never watched Let It Be. So the rooftop performance at the end of this latest documentary was exciting - especially having sat through 7 hours of them in the studio and seeing all the work that went into it.

The documentary revolves around Let It Be. But there's a lot of Abbey Road and later solo stuff in the studio sessions too.

Highly recommended

Funny Quote:

George: "Something in the way she moves, attracts me like .... "
John: "Attracts me like cauliflower. Just keep trying different words until you find the one that works."
One of the most beautiful lyrics of all time started off with "attracts me like cauliflower"
