Re: Gianni Alioski ***New Contract***
Club confirm Alioski has left....
Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Good luck to Ali wherever he ends up.
Farewell Ali
Leeds United football club have confirmed that energetic, erratic, versatile, hilarious, exciting Macedonian star Ezgjan Alioski will leave the club after 4 great years.
The term cult hero gets used a lot but Ali has a case.
His infectious personality and energetic style have endeared him to the LUFC faithful.
He had his own song He had his own hashtag #Giannicam
He had his own cult following.
And yet despite his wacky personality Ali was clearly an intelligent guy. Anyone who has tried to learn a 2nd language will know it isnt easy.
Ali when asked how many languages he speaks said this, "German, Italian, English, Albanian, Macedonian, French and a little Spanish."
On the pitch he never let us down, a player who played in multiple positions and could pop up anywhere.
A right winger who played left back and left wing, he was a true team player.
22 goals and 19 assists in over 150 games for the club the Macedonian became one of Marcelo Bielsa's most trusted players. Only 2 players took to the pitch more times than Ali in his time under Marcelo Bielsa which shows the respect the boss had for his skills and unselfish attitude.
Popular with fans and teammates alike he will be missed.
He scored some fantastic goals that will live long in the memory.
He leaves a Champion with his status in LUFC history secured.
Goodbye Ali and thank you

He's gone thank goodness, it's a blessing in disguise, a total liability.

Not the greatest defender for sure but you couldn't fault his effort or commitment.
And he'll always be part of our historic return to the PL.
Good luck Ali.

Re: Farewell Ali
He had great heart and fight for the cause, as well as a refreshing quirkiness that most modern day footballers don’t have the wit to imagine.
He was given a hospital pass in playing left back when it wasn’t his position. He wasn’t ideal there and it had to be fixed but he always gave 100% and you can’t ask for more. Got some brilliant goals too.
Firmly etched in our history - best of luck Ali and thanks for the memories!

Never forget his name, never forget him.
Breath of fresh air - unsure how we're going to continue his spirit!

What a pity, was hoping he'd stay.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

Almost a legend just for that ball through to Dallas with the outside of his foot against Man City.
Seems to divide opinions but I think we're a poorer squad without him. Even if he would have been backup this season, he would have done a great job for is with his versatility, like Dallas does.

Every team needs a whipping boy someone who they can turn on at regular intervals.
Alioski bore the abuse well, lesser mortals would have crumbled.
He deserves all the accolades he can get for preserving his upbeat demeanor

Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Never the most technically gifted, and could be a liability at times, but his commitment was never in doubt. Gave his all whenever and wherever he was asked to play, scored some good goals and was a refreshingly nutty character when there are so few in the modern game. He will always be remembered as an integral part of the Bielsa revolution and I wish him well wherever he goes next.

Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Looks like he's off to Galascum...
Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Not really a surprise with the way his departure was announced. No particular fanfare, like with Pablo and Berra.........just "Alioski has left"..........Shitty decision from him really and just destroys any goodwill and fondness many of us have had for him...............I know that some people will say "he's not a Leeds fan and is being offered terms that are too good to turn down" but sorry, f*** him. I'd be happier if he'd joined scum. I agree it doesn't put him in the same bracket as Kewell who was there playing for us at the time but he knows the depth of feeling here for "that club" and it apparently hasn't stopped him deciding to go there anyway, despite being offered a new contract here..........
Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
no issue for me - he gave his all when here, he owes us nothing imo
