Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Great character to have around the place during the promotion push and scored some important goals at crucial times. He was 100% committed when he played, imo would have liked him to stay as a squad player but can't fault him for wanting regular footy myself. A small group of violent Turkish cowards has nothing to do with GA. I wish him and his family all the best in their future endeavors.

Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Alioski joins Al-Ahli Saudi in Jedda, Saudi Arabia
Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Very odd move that
Must be for the money but fair enough

Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Good luck to him and much better than the dreaded alternative.
I love going to Saudi, its a cool place.

Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
The biggest club in the Middle East and a chance of winning trophies. Where should he have gone instead? To a mid table PL club? Good luck to him.
Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Will earn a ton of cash (tax laws are much lighter in Saudi Arabia).
Will have the chance to win trophies and be treated like a King by the fans and the owners of the club (probably get perks like cars, house etc).
And culturally Saudi Arabia is a Muslim countryand Ali is a Muslim so that probably appeals.
Good luck Ali
Sorry some of our idiot fans gave you undeserved stick based on rumours.

I spent 11.5 years working in Saudi. They are really passionate about their football. Open top cars, hooting horns and singing when their team wins.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 12:19 pm Will earn a ton of cash (tax laws are much lighter in Saudi Arabia).

He will be treated like a king that's for sure, although he had better behave himself, no sticking out his tongue and pulling funny faces, the Saudis will not be amused!
Re: Gianni Alioski - Goodbye
Not sure Galatasaray are anywhere near Saudi Arabia's level on the "done terrible things in the world" list...
Not to mention that he's in the prime of his career and he's moved to a league that's probably the equivalent standard of the Scottish second division - pretty odd to me!
Although obviously he's going for the money -

Re: Gianni Alioski - Says farewell to LUFC fans
Rumours were he got a seven figure signing on fee and over 2m a year wages. Probably nearly tax free too. I wish him all the best. Last chance to set himself up for life. Been nothing but good for Leeds, on and off the field and is forever a part of our glorious history now

I thought Cjay would be on here in a flash after Ali scored last night.
Re: Gianni Alioski
We miss Ali
Early days for Firpo but far from convinced he is an improvement on Ali.
More importantly Ali as a player offered so much we lack atm.
Creativity, energy, tenacity, and a goal threat (Ali doesnt miss the Firpo chance ).
He also seemed a good lad to have around, i imagine training at LUFC is a slog and Ali was great for spirit levels.
We should have offered him more and kept him.

Re: Gianni Alioski
Would have been cheaper giving Ali a renewed contract & spending much of £12m+ we paid for Firpo on strengthening the central midfieldCjay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 1:27 am We miss Ali
