Makes the Southampton game a tough one if we don’t have Phillips or Raphinha.

Wise decision to withdraw.
Our U23's could beat Andorra and the first team could beat Hungary so whichever team Southgate puts out will be more than enough.

Kalvin is supposed to be looking ok for Saints, happy days. Great result for us all round, no risk of aggravating the knock on England duty and fit to help us get 3 points on the south coast.

If Rapha doesn't make it we should have enough in James/Harrison/Jimmy, we just need to decide who is going to start actually kicking the ball into the bag.

Only issue is Jimmy is "ill" according to Bielsa and Harrison has an injury and could have only played vs Watford if absolutely desperate.

So no guarantees either lf them make it, especially Harrison.

Any idea what the Harrison injury is? I thought they'd just been given a rest at the weekend.

From what I gather it is the hangover from Covid, so hopefully with an extra couple of weeks to recover he will be fine

Shame for KP, as he misses a few caps.

But he needs a break and should come back fresh and rejuvenated.

Southgate will maybe need to turn to Eric Dire again for his second pivot :duno:

Gotta get those 8 defensive players in somehow

At least Kalvin won't be getting tapped up by Grealish, Walker, Stones etc

KP is struggling with a hip injury.

Raph, Klich, have also struggled with hip injuries last season or so.

You know what the most common cause of hip issues in athletes is?

Overuse . . . Funny that

I actually agree with Bielsa resting him. Those 4 weeks off would've done him the world of good. He was overplayed at the Euros and crying out for a break. Hopefully he comes back at his best now.

Didnt miss him today. Just the way the game went.

I hope a few of us whole default position is to find fault with the manager take that on board.

The more Struijk or Koch play DMF the less we'd need Kalvin, Anytime you have to switch payers around you need time for it to come to fruition. Struijk much better this week though thought he played a touch to far forward first half.
