Re: What are you doing today ?
Son had the catalytic converter sawn off his hybrid car. Apparently it is big business in the world of thievery. It is done for the precious metals... more expense than gold

Then walking over the millennium bridge to the schooner good little boozer hid on the banks of the tyne..and a short walk to gateshead stadium.
If the ball comes near me I'm going to hold onto it so I can get on the telly
My son said I better not....so I've told him to grow up.

Posh deckchair... these instrument of torture are euphemistically called gym equipment.
I did 4.25 Km on the cycle machine but at the end. of it the right leg was shaking uncontrollably... that happpens if i get stressed or over fatigued. The cold also brings on the shakes. Does not feel good when you loose control of your body.

Re: What are you doing today ?
well that is another big disappointment not being able to play the ukulele. The right hand has gone a liitle spastic and does not have the same speed or dexterity anymore, so playing has become too difficult. There is pain in all the joints of my finger which extend to my wrist and elbow... you know it is bad when you can't take the lid off a jam jar and have to ask the wife to do it.
Thank God there is speach to text on my phone otherwise writing would be impossible.
Still Mustn't Grumble

well that was another problem when the stroke occurred my speech was shot to hell and all the words were slurred, so what I tried to say could not be understood... but it has got better over time. The speech therapist got me reading poems to help with pronunciation.

Re: What are you doing today ?
Some days are better than others. I have to go down stairs for a shower. I have to go down backwards for fear of falling since my balance is not so good. I would rather fall up the stairs than down them... safety first.1964white wrote:Good to hear you are making a good recovery Rab.
As I walk my right foot moves like a fish swimming though water, or a fish flopping about on dry land. Sometimes it just goes into uncontrollable spasms as though there was a maelstrom of synaptic nerve activity. The therapist will always grab my leg and try to stop the shakes.
I have a friend in Canada who has also had a stroke. His arm is completely flaccid and he has rigged a contraption so he can strum his banjo using a foot pedal. He is a real inspiration... where there is a will there is a way.

Re: What are you doing today ?
Spent Christmas Day at home relaxing & enjoying the food & drink fare.
Chucked it down yesterday, so two doors indoors!
Needed to get out into the fresh air, a nice little walk.....bliss, even the birds were quiet in the hedgerows.

4 hours of what we call mountain running but the English call fell running. Nice and mild here.
