Another belter. The State Violence/State Control single from around the same time is brilliant as well.

Uncarved Block is a very underrated record. It's probably the one I listen to most now, although Strive To Survive is the one I'm fondest of.
I don't feel angry anymore.

Rarely come across anyone who knows it - underrated, as you say.

Looks like there's a new Rudimentary Peni EP out...

Yeah, really looking forward to hearing the Peni release (that sounds wrong  ).

I've only read a couple of brief snippets about it but I'm really surprised they're doing new stuff. Nick Blinko has been concentrating on his visual art and drawings for many years now and is obviously affected by mental health issues. I had read somewhere a while ago that his visual art helps as a release but he gave up the music because it was tough on his mental health but maybe that isn't accurate.

Did you buy the book of his works recently? I forgot to order and missed out. My mate got a copy and has already been offered several hundred quid for it (he's not selling).

No, I'd not followed what he was doing, and wasn't aware of his problems, so I'm just approaching it as a blast from the past. The EP sounds good. Just realised my cousin would have been his local vicar at the time of the release of Death Church. Small world.

On the Radcliffe and Maconie show on 6Music that weekend, Maconie commented on the story with the words...."didn't Flux Of Pink Indians name an album after this?" :)
A fitting tribute. I think i will be dropping it in to a few conversations going forward. :)

It's one single piece with 9 movements. He drifts in and out all the way through.

Shellac were the last band I saw before we went into lockdown. Incredibly tight live act.

I had to do a triple take, as, on first reading I thought they had released a dub version I wasn't aware of..........
