I don't mind women on TV sport, apart from when the Male cricket team are playing, whether it be a test match, one dayers, or T20. It doesn't sound right to me when Charlotte Edward's or some of the other female commentators are commenting on the men's game. It grates with me actually and I'm a laydee.....strangely though, I do like Rob Key commentating on the women's game

Fair dos Leon - myself I don't like men or women who gabble, rushing their deliveries for no good reason. I agree a lot of those from the 60s and 70s were real pros and are missed. I watch a lot of Premiership games, beamed over for NBCSN, the commentators all male UK ex-footballers who really know their stuff, a panel led by a very nice English presenter Rebecca Lowe, who isn't shrieky or rushed and I really like her contribution. She doesn't report live from games but runs the panel very well so I feel she's good at her job.

Reminded me a little of David Wearherall

I prefer male commentators but that is cos so far haven't heard a female sports commentator/expert that really adds anything to the commentary. I am sure one will come along soon though. Some of the male commentators are awful though. The Martin Tyler and Andy Gray combo still remains the best commentary team in my opinion - great knowledge, tactical awareness without them trying to be the star of the event.

I very often turn the commentary off, find Alan Geeen on 5 live a great commentator though.

agree about alan green also used to love listening to peter jones on the old bbc radio 2 commentary.
as for the tv lot you couldn't beat david colman and john motson . both bbc commentating legends.
can't stand that jonathan pearce tho flat as a witches tit.

I like Eddie Gray as a commentator by Mrs H complains that she can't understand a word he says and very quickly she lapses into the Russ Abbot CU Jimmy character

So just watched the highlights mmmm is it just me or are they desperate for Norwich to win the League so my reasons for this are

1. Norwich game on first
2. 10mins of Norwich highlights less than 5 of the Leeds game
3. Show Norwich game then discuss it, show Leeds game then another couple of games before discussing
4. Full conversation about Norwich a quick minute or two on Leeds

Made my blood boil or is it just me been selfish

Chances are the Norwich v Forest game was the big game to export across the world this week with it being 2nd against play off contender. In theory our match should have been comfy home win. As such likely more cameras at the Norwich game so it would have been better for the highlights with more different views of goals and then also easier to analyse. That said it is a much better product for Quest to sell if Leeds are involved so I am sure they would much rather Norwich got promoted as you can count their worldwide fans on the fingers of one hand (and don't even need a 6 fingered hand).

Can't stand Quest. Said so a lot earlier in this thread. The presenters get right on my chimes and they do seem to wet themselves over Narwich. And yes, I am one of those paranoid 'nobody loves Leeds' folks. Quest are rubbish though!

Don't like Eddie as a commentator hector. He sighs too much for me. Leeds lose the ball he sighs before he speaks....Leeds miss, he sighs before he speaks and so on....drove me nuts on LUTV. I'm with your good lady on this one

I see I made a couple of appearances amongst the glum faces as the commentator described us Leeds fans. My face in the last minute said it all
