RIP Ian.
Me too, neither took themselves too seriously which I think adhered them to the audience.

Yes, also used to really enjoy S&G - they were a tremendous combination who bounced off each other.

S and G was about the only thing ITV did well when it came to football as far as I was concerned.

They were a great combo.

Another sadness.

Legendary motor sport commentator Murray Walker passes away, aged 97

Affectionately known as 'Muddly Talker' he was a stalwart fixture of motor sports commentary for years.

Especially liked the years he was on with James Hunt on the BBC Grand Prix coverage - an entertaining double act

RIP Murray.

The fact this hasnt been changed from "no no no" to "go go go" is sad.

What a life he had.

Able to travel the world getting paid to commentate on your favourite sport.

I can only think of Stevo from rugby league who had quite the same level of passion for his sport.

Very sad that Murray Walker has passed away. I saw him many times at the different race circuits, like his commentary he was always in a hurry! He was the voice of Formula One.

Rest in Peace Murray.

Marvin Hagler has passed away at only 66 . One of the greatest boxers , let alone middleweights of all time . One of a few boxers who walked away and not tempted back for another fight .

Marvin was, for me, pound for pound, the greatest. And he fought in an era of greats, those fights involving him, Duran, Hearns and Leonard were a golden age for boxing. RIP Marvin

And for me...would be a toss up between him and JCC for the best pound for pound I've seen ever
