Bench to begin with as I think he provides great energy as a sub and we've not seen him have an extended run as a starter yet.

He'll definitely be in and around the team though, and if Bielsa rotates more (unlikely, but you never know!) then he might force his way into the team.

6 for last season, just from limited games.

Our most improved player from the U23s.

Bench

Hard to rate for last time but I will give him a 7 for the season ahead.

Obviously keep but it's going to be hard for him to get close to the minutes he got last season, I'm not even sure he makes the bench with all the additions.

Goalkeeper
Clarke
Harrison
Roofe
Dallas
White
plus one of a few who probably should be bench players

assuming a starting 11 of

1- Kiko Cassilla
2 - Luke Ayling
3 - Barry Douglas
4 - Kalvin Phillips
5 - Pontus Jansson
6 - *Liam Cooper
7 - Helder Costa
8 - Matteuz Klich
9 - Patrick Bamford
10 - Pablo Hernandez
11 - Ezgjan Alioski

Hardly put a foot wrong in the games he played last season.
Bench minimum but should be pushing Klich and Pablo hard for a starting spot.
Keep obviously

Our best young player imo!

Full of energy, consistent, versatile & never let us down when called upon

Bench player at the very least

7/10

One of our youngest and certainly brightest attacking midfielders for sometime.
Shackleton has a terrific engine with a coolness on the ball for a mere kid.
I believe he will make the breakthrough this season& barring injury can play a part next season.
Rating last year 7.

Nobody has posted in this thread for over 2 years which says a lot.

On the plus side, Shacks has been our best player this pre season imo.

Defended quite well to which i was a bit surprised about.

Interesting as i would say that's the weakest part of his game. Maybe Bielsa has had him working overtime on his positioning.

Wondering if Bielsa sees him as a legitimate RB. For me, he seems better suited in midfield with Dallas dropping back to defence.

I would have him down in midfield aswell AJ. The lad seems like he has got a great engine, although arguably RB is a easier position to play if you have defensive instincts. Not sure he would help us defending corners tho he doesn't seem the tallest.
