If you can look at the so called foul then notice that Grealish pushes his leg onto Struijk and goes over. Had he not done that contact would have been minimal...Struijk was a touch late, and I've said before he lacks a bit of pace, but not a lot wrong with that incident

... I also think the yellow put him off his game distracted him

I wouldn't be worried - under a different manager probably but he will know Bielsa has done it previously and he knows Bielsa will probably be unable to sleep tonight for worrying about him.

All part of his learning curve. Done it to Phillips and it worked okay for him.

He was obviously not happy being taken off so early, though he didn't show it, but he will understand what Bielsa did was best for him and for the club. He was a bit late in tackles and after first yellow card and the second incident I was hoping Bielsa takes him out as the red card was in the air.

I thought he was brilliant against Wolves and played well against Liverpool as centre-back and it is there he should play. Hopefully he can gain a bit more pace and be more accurate with his passes and he will be fine.

A touch unlucky, given that that diving little c**t played for the foul, but you always walk a tightrope on a yellow that early in a game. Bielsa took him off to protect him and the team, Pascal will understand that and it's all part of his footballing education. I've no doubt Bielsa will explain it all to him and probably apologise! The lad will be fine, has a good future ahead of him.

He was playing very well up until the rash challenge that led to the yellow. Then, less than a minute later, he made another hard tackle that, while fair, was the sort of thing that showed the ref (and Bielsa, too) that maybe he hadn't learned his lesson.

Struijk is young and will make the mistakes that youngsters often do. He will learn from this and move on. He has loads of talent and Bielsa obviously rates him. I fully expect to see him in the starting eleven since Kalvin won't be available for the Leicester game.

When I saw Strujik filling in for KP at the end of last season and at the back in Liverpool game, I really thought we had a star in the making. He's got great physique and great technical ability.

After the Villa game I did start worrying a little about his pace. He looked better in the next game because he wasn't tested so much, but just looked like he needed to get a little bit more confidence to be a little more creative.

I'm glad to see the new contract because it makes it clear that Bielsa rates him for the future. I'm not sure he'll be a midfielder but I do think he has the potential to turn into a top-class center back. He's got a bit of Ronald Koeman in him in what he can offer as a creative player from the back.

Agree on this. I really rate Pascal, though recognise he has a lot of developing still to do still. I think he has all the raw ingredients to become an excellent player, seems to be a likable lad, and I'm happy he's signed an extended contract.

Has the potential to become a great player great to see him commit his future

Struijk signing now leaves just Alioski as a member of the first team squad whose contract expires at the end of this season. I think Struijk has qualities that will only be enhanced by first team football but he may need to bide his time,

I think some fans just expect that players will step up from the U23s and slot in seamlessly. Takes time to get used to playing against much better players, faster game, less time to think etc. The lad did okay and looks like he will get a few games now to really kick on with his career.

At least Pascal won important headers for us today

Take him out of back four we'd have conceded, his aerial presence was essential combating the bombardment

Nor do I especially after the way we have been gifting goals particularly at set-pieces

Lad did well today. He's learning on the job and probably thought that, with Koch and Llorente arriving, he'd have spent most games on the bench but he's stepping up to the plate, never shirks responsibility and there's a really decent player in there.
