I did say Beadnell beach is lovely mate

Beadnell is where Jill & I first fell in love with Northumbria although we had stayed more inland in Corbridge a couple of time prior to our stays on the coastline

So glad you're all enjoying yourselves, you deserve a good holiday after what you've been through in recent months Ges
It was really nice.

I find London increasingly dystopian, and rarely visit for pleasure these days.

Quaint ...we get the binmen at 6 am Monday, The hospital's helicopter can wake you up at any hour of the night (Hospital is around 700 yards away) ..plus the rush hour starts at 7 and most of it seems to come past our house..when I bought it you'd get very little traffic go past..now we can get traffic jams as the increase in traffic last 5 years makes our little road a rat run

Think that's true of the south east in general, or the London commuter orbit, anyway. Bedfordshire, where I grew up, is unrecognisable for traffic, noise, and the generally stressy pace of life.

I'm really sensitive to noise and I can't stand it, hence opting for somewhere quaint.

Working in the garden and doing some hand pollination of squashes, the insects seem to have down tools in this hot weather.
Scottish Steel and Irish Fire that's the weapon I desire.

Couldn't live anywhere near London
Couldn't live in the south again
Couldn't live in my boyhood city Leeds or a small town again

I love peace & quiet :)

You would both love it where I live then (apart from '64's dislike of the south)

1 neighbour (miserable old twat that he is, never talks unless I corner him and say 'good morning' which I do when I feel mischievious :)

farm estate only trouble here was the harvesting in the field behind me at 2130 last night

1.5 miles to the village, and the nearest shop
14 miles to the nearest town
I can go days at a time without seeing or speaking to anyone apart from Mrs H
