Unfortunately Steve Smith has got himself in again, 32 no
He is a collosuss for the Aussies.

But apart from him the rest if them dont look in nick, apart from Bancroft who just looks out of his depth.

He is indeed Ian. Difficult to stop him scoring. :duno:

Hopefully the England lads will be having a pow wow tonight and come up with some sort of plan

Bring Anderson out to rattle a few in at him early doors, assuming he's fit. Did Jimmy go out and field yesterday? Know ge wasn't bowling...

Smith just looks a nightmare to bowl against - always finds the gaps and his action/rhythm is difficult to get up grips with. Just seems to score off every kind of ball.

Think we lost this at 120-8 to 280 ish all out. I'd not like to be chasing 150 with the ball turning sideways..Anderson seemed to be struggling to run singles yesterday so I doubt he bowls. I'm not sure Lyon will be that unlucky again..

Smithy goes for 142.

Aussies lead by 246 approaching T.

England best hope is that they bat too long!

Thought we've been outplayed for the important sessions in the game.

Echos of 2005 when the Aussies lost McGrath just before the start, England effectively a bowler short with Jimmy breaking down and compounded with Moen on his home ground bowling pies. But Smithy is a colossus.

So a week off before Lords. Archer to replace Anderson and I wonder if Moen needs a break? He has lost his mojo by the look.

Moeen looked so out of sorts for me Ian....a bit dejected. His bowling was off and when he was at the crease with Lyon bowling at him and he must have been wondering how come I couldn't bowl like that on this wicket. Would you keep him in the team for Lords? I would bring in Rashid instead I think :duno:
Can't wait to see Archer chucking it at the Aussies :)

Moen is a confidence player swannie, he has loads of natural ability but does struggle mentally. Dropping him would be massive and I doubt the selectors would call up Rashid, I think Leach would be the favourite. Rashid lacks the control with the red ball I reckon.

And yes get Archer steaming in, what a prospect that is, hopefully they will leave plenty of grass on the pitch.
