Rugby World Cup Final - ENGLAND v SOUTH AFRICA

Post by Muppet the Cat »

:rugby: :cup

Are you interested in this ?

They are really ramping it up in the Welsh media given, as to fair, Wales have as good a chance with the current team as they've probably ever had (although it is still difficult to see them beating the likes of the All Blacks)

I know a couple of people going out to Japan and it is costing them a fortune to do so (Japan is an very expensive place to visit normally and no doubt costs have ramped up somewhat with the RWC in town).

Although I'd want England to win (if only to wind up everyone at work), having lived in Cardiff for longer than anywhere Wales would be my clear 2nd choice

i wouldn't say im a great fan of union but do enjoy watching the six nations and other internationals.
fancy south africa or the all blacks . can't see anyone else threatening beyond those two.
will have a gander when the tournament gets down to the nitty gritty.

Absolutely buzzing for it. Being a southerner by birth its pretty big here! Backing England for it. Far better side than anyone else in the Northern Hemisphere (Wales struggle away from their cauldron).

Our local cinema is showing the Ireland games free and it is £4 if you want breakfast.

Awful times to be following the games, my missus is a Rugby nut so I will have to pay attention.

I love rugby, especially Rugby League and Wakefield Trinity. But when England are playing I love Union. I'll be watching when I can :)

Really looking forward to this World Cup, it’s the most open Workd cup ever. I think England South Africa and New Zealand are the top three, with Ireland and Wales just below them. The whole Howley situation may derail the welsh though, which is a shame.

I disagree that there is no simulating for penalties in rugby (both formats). It may not happen as often as it does in football due to rugby being more of a contact sport, but it happens.

As for the rest of it, if at any time in the future both, or either form of rugby, starts to offer the same financial rewards for success as football does, then that will all happen.

I do remember going to watch Wakey Trinity v Hull FC a few years ago Harry. Hull kept getting penalties somehow by deliberately blocking the Wakey players exit from the release ball.....it was obviously their game plan. Not sure how they got away with it to be honest, but it worked in their favour and they went away with the win....much to my disgust :x
