What a gracious man Bielsa is. He takes a yellow for the team and during
the post match interview he spends most to the time saying that he is
sorry he had to take Tyler Roberts off and apologises not just once but twice.

He explains his tactics that when he brought Tyler on he wanted to attack
but when WB began to get the upperhand in the second half the priorities
had to change to defence so he brought on Ayling. He went at length to stress
that Tyler had done nothing wrong, and that he was sorry that he put him
on only to take him off after 25 minutes.

I genuinely think he cares for his players as individuals and he will nurse
Tyler's ego so his confidence does not suffer, after all he took Phillips off
twice last years, and look what a player he has become.

Bielsa is a gem.

Well that's a relief. West Brom best team we've played so far and credit to them for actually having a go and it was a good game and competitive. It was just important to hold on and win that, regardless of who the opponents were today. That should give the players a lot of confidence. Not often you see going to the corner near the end rather than chasing the second. That said, I still thought we were the better team and deserved the win. We created the better chances and probably could have won more comfortably but for some good saves from Johnstone. I thought subbing Shack off at HT was a strange move, as he was playing well and Roberts is very rusty.
Shack was injured mate.

Gutted for Shack. He was playing so well and probably won't get back in the team as Forshaw will take his spot.

Dallas MOM for me, and good see him chosen for the captaincy. Not the prettiest, but a well fought win.

He cares about the players, club, fans, kit man, owner, cleaning lady etc.....last thought is himself, such selflessness is a joy and so refreshing in this day and age. You are so right, an absolute gem and the club is immeasurably better off with him here.

Would've brought Clarke on rather than Roberts.

He'd be my choice as captain. One of the few who stood up in the playoffs.

Cooper will probably be out for a few months. This has to be an opportunity for Struijk now, not Phillips at CB again.

Berardi will get the nod at CB I would think. Didn't see the game bar about 5 minutes of bits but WBA looked flustered and dirty everytime I tuned in. Also caught Bamford horrendous miss of a sitter in the first half...

One point better than last season at this point and this season teams are prepared for us ..We're a better team folks

We take 4 from the next 9 points last season

Well I did eat humble pie Chilli and it tasted very nice indeed now lets see if this is the catalyst to kick on or will we continue to struggle against teams who just want to park the bus and hope for a point...talking of which, Millwall up next .

I've been a big fan of him since that playoff performance. Could he be the leader we need?

Yay!

Unfortunately I missed all the action tonight, ... just realised the last game I missed was Brentford.

Havent saw any highlights yet but it seems from reading on here it was an intense struggle.

Hope Coops and Shacks arent out for too long, hopefully the return of Ayling and Roberts will give MB enough cards to shuffle, but let us hope that just as September was poor October can be rich, points wise.

Berra for Captain - but I’d vote for him as PM so I’m biased.

I thought this was a great quote on Twitter
"Bielsa won’t sleep tonight after taking Roberts off , he will probably call him in the middle of the night in 10 years time to apologise again
