I was in the Corberan camp but ive changed my mind, in terms of success as a head coach he is a step down on TC. Personally when MB goes we need to go younger, similar tactical views but experienced.

Corberan has worked with some pretty decent Managers and seems to be well thought of.


He began his coaching career at 26 years old, and started at Villarreal CF under head coach Juan Carlos Fernandez before being the assistant to Manuel Pellegrini and working alongside other former Villarreal CF managers Ernesto Valverde, Juan Carlos Garrido and Miguel Ángel Lotina.[3]

In February 2012, Corberán signed for Saudi Arabia team Al-Ittihad alongside head coach Raúl Caneda after Pep Guardiola's recommendation of Corberán to the Arab team. Whilst at the club, he was part of the management team who helped get the club to the semi-finals of the ACL.[4]

In the season 2013–14 he took charge of the AD Alcorcón's Juvenil A squad, until January 2014, when he was relieved of his duties by Jose Maria Rico.[4]

In the season 2014–15 he joined Al-Nassr FC as a coach working with Fabio Cannavaro. They were runners-up in the Saudi Arabia Super Cup, and reached the group phase in the AFC Champions League and were also finalists in the King's Cup.[4]

In November 2016, he signed as head coach at Doxa Katokopias in the Cypriot First Division. This was his first role as head coach of a senior side. However soon after, in January 2017, he was appointed the new head coach of Ermis Aradippou FC of the Cypriot First Division where he helped guide them to a seventh place finish.

I know but is that really enough?

We talk about the players needing a certain mentality to be here, same as the manager surely?

Its taken an internationally renowned manager to get us near promotion.

I don't think taking a gamble on Carlos would be the way forward imo. We have seen many well thought of young managers come and fail, Monk, TC, Milanic, Hecky etc.
