We have to start planning for the premiership plus cover in the three positions where we are vulnerable :

A commanding ball playing CB

A striker in the Bamford mode that can player Bielsa-ball & score goals for fun

And a quality stand-in for Hernandez, we have no player in the squad like him. It's no surprise we are creating more chances since his return, also Klich & Costa look more comfortable playing alongside Pablo

Will Hughes at Watford for the creative midfield role. He went there for four million, and might be tempted as they're coming down. I'm sure he'd prefer playing under Bielsa to Pearson too. Could be a good understudy to Pablo. Plus it would royally piss off Derby fans him coming here.

Be funny if someone came in with a bid for Bamford

Several clubs in for him, according to the latest comment, and Liverpool wanting guaranteed minutes.

Wouldn't want Brewster.

Whether Eddie goes or not we need to aim far higher then another inexperienced kid.

I have no doubt our competitors will make influential signings in January

Thank god we signed Kiko last January even though we patently required more

This squad of 18 players has to end.

MB rigidly uses the same players over and over again and it isnt sustainable imo.

He has history for doing it.

Never used more then 18 starters at Bilbao or Marseille and one season at Bilbao it was 15.

We have used 17 this season.

It cant continue, it won't work imo.

I firmly believe for as good as MB is, his insistence on such a small squad has himdered his ability to win trophies when all is said and done.

It isnt 2 players per position, thats a myth.

Its a squad of 18 and only when absolutely impossible, he will then use someone outside of the group.

Last season Kiko, Shacks and Clarke made it a core group of 21.

You can force your way in but it is incredibly hard.

Not saying MB should be sacked or anything daft.

But i do think he is his own worst enemy at times.

The best thing Radz could do is add 2 clearly better players suited to the system, MB would use them.

As it stands clearly MB doesnt trust anyone outside his core group hence why its generally the same players all the time even off the bench.

Thoughts?

The thing is.... Even with players at his disposal; Clarke, Eddie etc he doesnt use them!

Orta and Radz could buy as many players as the fans want come January but if Bielsa doesnt fancy them they don't play. We mnight have De Bruyne on the bench but Dallas would still be filing in at No 10.

Think I posted elsewhere Dallas will start in goal if Casilla get a ban...he'll find someway of incorporating his favored players. Bielsa's strength is his biggest weakness. Has a great system but lacks imagination. Incredibly faithful to a fault

I still think Bogusz would shine in the 10 role.

I would think that by now Orta knows that if he gets anyone in who Bielsa doesn't think fits his plans then that guy won't play. So working on that theory is it not better for all concerned to get everyone around a table to discuss who is/might be available and Bielsa says yes or no....a sarcastic comment I know but not for the first time I do get the feeling that Ortas and Bielsas thoughts do not seem to be on an even keel.

He appears to have gone backwards this season. Not getting a lot of time in the U23's. A shame, as I thought he would be the one to come through this season. He is still only 18, though.

Maybe he isn't getting tested enough.

Our U23's are either not ready or aren't good enough, lets face it some are only on the bench because of injuries & our slimline squad.

Only Shackleton has made a real impact, hopefully his injury hasn't curtailed his progress
