Didn't notice this result from yesterday until this evening.

Villa who came from nowhere to fluke a play-off final victory last season. Now they are struggling after spending £200m

All bottom nine clubs have spent time in the championship over the last couple of decades

Just goes to show how difficult it is to survive in the premiership

If we ever get there I'm sure it won't be a stroll in the park however we sure are making it difficult for ourselves to be back amongst the elite.

Norwich who strolled the championship are coming straight back down

Bournemouth are in their worst position since their impressive championship promotion season

It won't be easy BG unless we find a sugar daddy which is no guarantee if our club is not managed properly

Delia is in it for the money and Farke will be head hunted.
Bournemouth is only a matter of time but they've done well to survive a few seasons.

Good recruitment and a good manager can go far.

Wolves and Sheffield United show this.

I made that thread ages ago about not being sure i want us to be promoted, stand by that, if we go up i dont want us to be cannon fodder.

If we go up we need to recruit a hell of a lot better then we have in the past.

Great first season for the blunts, will be interesting to see if this is a Hollywood period for them.

Wolves looked a premiership side in their championship promotion season.

There is no way I want a short-term stay Cjay after spending so long out of the premiership.

No point whatsoever if we have no ambition to progress even in this league

Promotion would be a massive lift for all Leeds fans

There are no guarantees either way, I bet if you asked most people who of the 3 promoted clubs would struggle the most I bet the majority would have gone for Sheff Utd.
Spending doesn't guarantee anything, look at Villa and if they do come back down, with the parachute money at their disposal they'll be in a much better position than if they hadn't have gone up at all.
Actually that last statement applies more to Norwich than Villa, who will be a financial mess because of their spending.

Interesting to note that Villa & Norwich have the two worst defences in the prem

Indeed mate I reckon the blunts were first-choice to come down for many

I mean obviously i want us to go up otherwise as you say, no point.

But i want us to go up with a genuine plan and ambition.

Not just to take the money and run like the Norwich owners or just piss money up the wall signing anybody like the Villa ones.

But Wolves have shown how you can do it, you recruit well season on season and build towards a goal.

You keep your best players, Neves, Jota, Boly etc.

You slowly remove players who arent at the standard you want to be at Afobe, Douglas, Batth.

And you add players who are and who suit your style, Traore, Jimenez, Moutinho.

You build, you are ruthless when needed and plan.

It requires a well oiled machine from top to bottom, all pulling in the same direction and i loathe to say that because Wolves cheated their way out of this league in my book but it paid off and fair enough.

Indeed '64 if you took Man city, say out of it then Leicester City would have to be the club to show example.
Oh ! that does require loads o' dosh too I'd say.
