Live albums are acceptable, all the recordings were taken from various concerts so I don't see why not!

Seriously? Nobody's nominated Paul Simon's Graceland yet?

Really tempted to nominate Skylarking by XTC, too, but I think I'll stick with Graceland.

Skylarking is a good one, but I'd wait a year and go with Psonic Psunspot.

REM had a great release in 86 with Life's Rich Pageant. Might be my fave from them.

Not sure how this works.
Do we need to nominate one or two that haven’t been taken?
Here are two that haven’t been taken
1 Crowded House - Crowded House
2 New Order - Brotherhood

1 mate. Then when all the nominations are in, we have a listen, then everyone votes for their favourite 5.

Although I personally prefer the rawness of his earlier work, Taxman combines his sincerity with more evolved and accomplished songwriting.

His later records have decent arrangements but lose his early passion. This record was his apex- straddling idealism with sophistry.

Levi Stubbs Tears
Greetings to the New Brunette
Help Save the Youth of America

All terrific first-rate songs. Billy at the height of his powers.
Wonderful album - proud to say I have it on white vinyl and cassette......

Drawing up a shortlist. A couple from my goth years in contention........The Mission - God's Own Medicine and The Sisterhood - Gift
Life's Rich Pageant is one of, if not my very favourite REM album, so that is at the forefront of my mind. Also some top albums by The Chameleons, Husker Du, Sonic Youth and This Mortal Coil, Big Black and Butthole Surfers to name but a few.............Good year.

What are you like Hector, did you live in a bubble from the 80's onward?
