Struggled with this year a bit. Not much that tickled my fancy, if I'm honest.

Looks like a win for Heavy Horses which I couldn't get on with (well done Riot) and back to the drawing board as Best Coast didn't live up to bottom place hopes.

Two relatively unknown albums occupied the top two places.

Congratulations White Riot nominating a surprise winner  you were right I did enjoy 'Murder Ballads & Other Love Songs', it does help if you like a bit of country music, others obviously were impressed with the Heavy Horses album.

Also enjoyed the Best Coast album Faaip

We move onto 1973, surely no one will be abstaining on this exceptional year after the disappointing 2012.

Cheers for running this Leon, I'm really chuffed that Heavy Horses won.

Big thanks to Faaip for introducing me to Best Coast

If anyone liked that Heavy Horses LP they put out another one in 2019 called With Darkness In My Eyes. Don't think it's as good as the first one, but the first track Bended Knee is a classichttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzgotXJd_RA

1973 wow, what a year for great music.

You could pick any one of maybe 40 albums and you wouldn't be wrong :?

But gotta go with the album my big sister bought on cassette and that we played to death for many years:

Queen - Queen

Not expecting this will get many points as it's got some incredible opposition that year.

Should be the winner tbh ... not their best by a distance but deemed to be their masterwork.

63 is a very poor year for albums. Especially if you don't like jazz
