Re: Album of 1998 - NOMINATE NOW
This one will not get much traction here, but it's brilliant:
Lucinda Williams "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road"
Her magnum opus.

It is ...cracking version too
Astronomy and Loverman my two favourites off that album though. BOC and Cave respectively.

Gonna go:
Gentleman's Blues by Cracker
Arguably their best record (it's between it and Forever for me). The front end is solid but the back half of the album is outstanding. Completely flew under the radar upon release but I still spin it regularly over 20 years later and it doesn't get old.

I've nominated 'Car Wheels on a Gravel Road' by Lucinda Williams. As I said before, it stands no chance of winning 'round here, but there's no need to eliminate the album before the voting even starts.1964white wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 9:49 am ALBUM OF 1998

I would estimate I have listened to this one 127 gazillion times...give or take a gazillion.
