Many artists I enjoy from 1963 but even this old codger owns only about ten albums from that year.

I suspect some own nothing from 1963 & only a few would participate.

Meddle and WYWH are the best PF albums for me. Obscured gets played here a lot too

I'm also going to avoid the obvious rock albums which wil end up fighting for best albums and nominate

War 'The World Is A Ghetto'

Not quite as good as All Day Music but still a great soul/funk album in it's own right with a true classic title track

Mahavishnu Orchestra almost got the nod as did the Doobies finest moment.

Nice 8-)

I'm also thinking the same with either Gaye's 'Lets Get It On' or Stevie's 'Innervisions'

MJ has nominated the sublime 'Innervisions'

Apologies it's very late 72 for some reason I thought it was definitely 73.. I'll rethink

One of my first albums I ever paid for myself 4/5 years after release was

Joe Walsh 'The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get'

classic blues rock from the soon to be Eagles man

Someone needs to nominate the Mahavishnu Orchestra's Birds of Fire though ... C'mon, from one of the West Riding's greatest sons ...?

You won't be surprised by my nomination... for most Quo fans it's their best album, not mine, but right up there..

Couple of terrific reggae albums to consider but as I think someone may well nominate Catch A Fire, I'll go with:

Upsetters 14 Dub - Blackboard Jungle

The original, not the later re-released version, which actually has a quite different tracklisting. This is the version below. Not on Spotify but on YouTube or YouTube Music.

'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath', 'Hello', 'Catch A Fire', 'Tubular Bells', 'Pronounced 'Leh-'Nerd 'Skin-'Nerd'....... :duno:

but will go with - Elton John 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' (probably an unfashionable one to put up, but I think it's a fantastic album)
