nowt.... it seems I have been living in isolation for years now
I still go to work when there are jobs
I still don't talk to anyone when not at work (apart from Mrs H and the dog)
so life is rolling on a usual
I'm often accused of acting like I don't care

It's not an act!!

:) :)

Families particularly kids & holidays are a big miss

Missing eating out too although Mrs 64 has perfected the making of bread & butter pudding of late :)

A hermit's life has compensations H. We're about to find out - Missouri's Governor has scheduled a 'Stay at home' policy from midnight Sunday/Monday for 2 weeks. It's recommended we don't leave the house except for essential food shopping and/or medical reasons. Oh, and we are advised (only now) to wear masks. I don't really think they mean dressing up as Jack the Ripper, although the way it was said it sounded like an early Hallowe'en to me. I'll dust down a bandanna or 3 to keep the faith - it's all 2/3 weeks late if they were ever going to do anything but I suppose a late start is better than none. We've had just the 1 trip this last week for the last of Debbie's official cold laser treatments and shopping for essential ingestive items like beer and cigarettes - oh, and bread and potatoes.

What am I going to miss - well, actually nothing because we've been living just in our house for a couple of weeks anyway. Every external activity is cancelled.
In fact we've actually saved a hell of a lot of money not eating or drinking out. We haven't changed what we ingest but it just doesn't cost a quarter of our normal outgoings, plus there's no tipping and cost of fuel.

I think the question really should be "Who's going to miss us?" Lord alone knows what's going to happen to the businesses around us. The 3 places classed loosely as pubs/clubs in this county cannot serve drinks at their places, only serving takeaway orders. As their takeaway prices are higher than liquor stores guess who gets the most sales. Same with cafes - the only things they can serve are takeaways too. Again, higher prices by far than grocery store items.
Their whole price structures are based on 'service' by staff employed for that purpose - cooks, waiter/waitresses, bartenders, cleaning staff etc. - and they can't give the service on which their price structure is based. It must be a nightmare for them.
