R&A Cancel the Open

Post by John in Louisiana »

The R&A announced today that the 149th Open Championship has been cancelled for the first time since World War II.

This is almost as bad as what's happened to the football season. The Masters, US Open, and PGA have all been rescheduled, but none of them holds a candle to the Open.

It's just another casualty of covid-19, or at least the threat of it.
We'll get blase after a while.

Best Major by a stretch, I've been to The Open and played at RSG. Brilliant venue to spectate as there is so much space.

Every event is falling by the wayside unfortunately

As a regular attender watching Leeds I'm glad the football season was halted or else I & many of my good pals would probably be in hospital beds by now :(

I guess thats the way we should all be looking at it.

Alas, the more events get cancelled the less chance that this season will be concluded, the whole of our forseeable future is gonna be dependant on men in grey suits to decide if we get into the pl.
