Lee Johnson sacked by Bristol City.

Lee will be the bigger man and not comment.

Spent £30mil on transfers plus loans like Afobe in the summer.

£10mil season before.

Compared to what MB has had to spend Lee Johnson has been very fortunate and underachieved. Always been well backed and despite Bristol City selling key players every year same as most clubs Johnson has consistently had cash to spend.

Reading what Bristol City fans say.
No tactical plan or style.
Spouts endless clichés
Never takes responsibility and blames the players including people he wanted like Nakhi Wells.
And is arrogant, thinks he is better then he is.
Isnt named Streaky Johnson for nothing, they have always gone on winning then losing sreaks under him.

He is also Heck's mentor which explains a lot.

Just an average championship manager who has taken the robins as far as he can, four seasons at the helm & the club has gone backwards.

I thought they were very poor & disjointed on the two occasions we played them this season

Agree, if they got Nkethiah in the summer they would be much higher

All ifs & buts

If we had retained Nketiah we'd have probably been promoted by now

Ah they nearly had him in fairness and we swooped so that really set them back and yes we would have it wrapped up if we had Eddie

Indeed, could have scored vital goals coming on as a sub when we were struggling though our bad patch

Truth is we went looking for a striker when we already had one fit & ready

All water under the bridge now

As faaip alluded, I don't know and wonder why MB didn't play him

I assume he wasn't entirely on board with his loan :dun:

I felt Bielsa wanted a different type of striker to Bamford as an option from the bench but he also wanted to mould Nketiah into someone who could do more of the hard work too. As I showed with my stats we were far more likely to concede when Nketiah was on the pitch than we were with Bamford and that points to Bamford being a better fit in the Bielsa machine than Nketiah was even though Nketiah was probably more of a goal threat - although minutes per goal and Nketiah and Bamford were extremely close at the point Nketiah returned.

I do think Arsenal got a much better all round player when Nketiah returned and it may have been that he was just about acclimatised to play the role that Bielsa wanted when his loan was cut short. What we got was a poacher and a striker used to playing on the shoulder of the last defender, what Arsenal got back was someone who could do that but had also become more of a team player.
