Re: Annus Horribilis - Jack Charlton
What could be our best season for 16 years and 3 of our greatest ever players won't be here to see it. Very sad news.

It’s a joy to us all when big Jack has the ball to know that he is on our side. R.I.P.
Re: Annus Horribilis - Jack Charlton
Another sad day in the history of Leeds United
I first saw Jack play in 1964, he was the backbone of Revie's team
Always remember with a smile on my face Big Jack going one of his inelegant dribbles that seem to take him pass the opposition defenders
A LUFC legend & a World Cup Winner to boot!
You'll always be remembered in my mind
RIP Jack

Re: Annus Horribilis - Jack Charlton
Another legend gone. I’m sure Jack would be the 1st to admit he was never one of the most elegant of players but what a extremely effective, no nonsense, all heart defender he was with an inexorable desire to win.

Re: Annus Horribilis - Jack Charlton
Devastating year to lose another true legend, not only to Leeds, but the game of football.
Re: Annus Horribilis - Jack Charlton
This is so sad to hear. I know he had been in poor health for some years with a form of dementia, but it's still a shock. He joins Billy Bremner, Norman Hunter and Trevor Cherry, and of course, Don Revie. It seems the places in Don's team up there are being filled alarmingly fast by all these ex-players.

Re: Annus Horribilis - Jack Charlton
Another very sad moment for all of us.
Another one of our heroes passes away.
What a devastating year with Norman and Trevor also going.
We have modern heroes, but Jack, Trevor, Norman and Billy are true legends.
Very gutted, at least we know Jack is not suffering anymore, he's gone to a better place with his mates.
As someone posted elsewhere "God is building the best defence in heaven".
Hopefully, our current heroes can offer a fitting tribute by winning these last four games in style, to lift the Championship trophy and take us back to the top where we've always belonged.
RIP Big Jack

The U.K. based fans probably don’t realise what a legend Jack is over here in Ireland, himself and his wife Pat were made honorary citizens back in the 90’s.
RIP big Jack.

Rest in peace, Jack. You will be remembered far beyond ER. Winning so much with us and winning a World Cup, I can't think of many lives better spent than his.

Another sad day for Uniteds fans with the passing of big jack saw him play on hundreds of occasions. But also met him a lot when he used to coming shooting in the yorkshire wolds and on his fishing trips to Filey where he had a house.Just hope the present team can make it to the premiership in memory of Jack,Normanand Trevor.
R.I.P.Jack thanks for the memories .Condolences to all his family.

We stood on the shoulders of this great man during the golden area, deeply saddened but also heartened that he will find peace from his recent suffering.
