Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself. Three games to go, relegation threatened Barnsley v title chasing Leeds

In our spell in Division 2 in the 80s we couldn't beat Barnsley for love or money. We had a terrible record against them for some reason or another.

From memory that was our only home loss all season.

Yeah Barnsley and Oldham were our real bogey sides at that time. At least to some degree the pressure is off for us as a draw wouldn't be the end of the world and even a defeat would still leave it in our hands.

Nobody else has that luxury, that's for sure.

That’s true, but I really wouldn’t like us having to cash in that insurance policy because of a bad result at home to Barnsley.

We have two awkward fixtures ahead. Bitterness will make Derby try harder on Sunday and, because of Charlton being robbed of three points so late last evening V Birmingham, they will may well be fighting for their lives next Wednesday. Pressure for a win in the last game would be unbearable  !

Hopefully it won’t come that - it really shouldn’t.
