Salary Cap

Post by SG90 »

https://www.efl.com/news/2020/august/sq ... eague-two/

The EFL have brought in salary caps for Leagues One and Two. £2.5m a year for League One clubs and £1.5m for League Two clubs.

Very good idea imo. Clubs are overspending and overreaching themselves due to huge wage bills. Hopefully the PL and Championship will follow suit. When you have the likes of Arsenal sacking low paid staff while paying Oezil £350k a week wages, something is wrong with the sport!

Agree it is a great idea.

Let’s just hope that the EFL can implement it properly, unlike FFP

Something needed to be implemented

Whether it happens in the top two leagues is debatable, no doubt the authorities will be face with all the freedom to trade cr*p

I really can't see it happening in the top 2 leagues, but they are the divisions in need of it most imo!
