with bamford out if he doesn't get a look in today, then bielsa will never use him, only for cup games.

He played 90 mins last night, might be tough in him today, but he is showing exactly the class we would want to see in a breakthrough player.

Grads Joffy well deserved.

It gives us another player to keep tabs on during the Int break

Looks like most of us on here DO know more than MB after all! :)

At least those of us who have been calling for Joffy to play more minutes

Fantastic performance - fearless and direct, the Wolves back 3 shat themselves every time he ran at them.

Mountain was right though, two mis fire games from Joe and this one set up perfectly by MB for him to shine

Might get 45 mins next week as MB won't bow to pressure, excellent 30 today, just what we needed, a natural and direct, defenders hate that type of player.

If you were being ultra critical of a senior player with 50,100,150 senior matches to his name then you would say that Joffy should have done better with his first two opportunities.

However for a kid with barely a handful of matches at the top level to his name to have the impact he did you absolutely cant.

The good outweighed the bad and Joffy took the game by the balls with Summerville and forced the issue to a degree his senior teammates bar Raph had been unable to do offensively all game.

He surely is the first choice sub now if we need a goal?

And when was the last time one of our subs made a real contribution? Actually played a key role in earning us points.

Waster Roberts is, and always will be while Bielsa is gaffer, our go to sub. Most of us on here know he's a great footballer in disguise and he wouldn't look out of place in the local pub team. Well done to Joe, next week we'll see much more of him and the Budgies will brick it.

Many of us have been wathing him with huge praise in the 23's over the past year plus. I was still really impressed with the big impact he had today. Fantastic drive and positivity. I think he starts with Rodrigo as long as Bamford is out. That's the next few games to take a better look at him and see if he can keep making the step forward,

I’ve been one of the posters on here who has been angling for Gelhardt to be given a chance and I’m delighted for him that he’s taken it with gusto and aplomb. But we shouldn’t get carried away, I seem to remember there was the same delight when Jack Clarke made an instant success in the 1st team and look what happened there! (Mind you we conned Spurs out of £10m so not too shabby I suppose)

Hopefully Gelhardt will go from strength to strength and become a valued regular 1st team player for us, he’s certainly made a very promising start.

Those of us who watch the U23's have been saying for months, young Joe was ready for a crack in the first-team.

I said "Joe doesn't need chances laid on a plate for him, he makes his own opportunities"

No fannying about doing a Jack or a Klich on the ball when a chance arises, he just wallops them on target.

Apart from Raphinha, he is our player who drives into the box as he did today to win the penalty.

Joe had the audacity to nearly win the game for us at the end.

Well done Joe

And lets make sure to give Bielsa no credit for giving him a chance these past few games, he obviously decided to ignore his vast footballing experience in developing players in favour listening of the clamour from the sidlelines.

Gelhardt is the best young prospect out of the U23's since Harry Kewell.

He is a joy to watch isnt he 64.

I loved the way he wouldnt allow himself to be hustled off the ball today.

Hope he gets some game time on Tuesday.
