Ronnie O'Sullivan - Well Done Ronnie

Post by 1964white »

Screenshot 2020-08-11 at 18.17.22.png

Ronnie 8-4 down in the first afternoon session, returns with a burst of four frames to go into the evening session at the Crucible 8-8

When Ronnie is flowing he's almost unstoppable, wonderful to watch

Looking forward to the evening session at 6.55pm

Bit of a faux pas yesterday though ....maybe

I did have it on but turned it over to watch the World Paint Drying Championships.
I wanted to flash this watch, I flash it all the time. It's my antique pocket watch and it makes me look British...and I need that for my analysis. It is a gorgeous gold pocket watch however and I'm very proud of it. You see my grandfather, on his death bed, ..sold me this watch!

Who is he playing. ? He was slagging off all the young lads on the tour, so I hope one of them beats him.

Not that I am at all bothered with snooker, unless I am playing.

I like to play the game, also pool but I can't sit and watch more than 5 minutes...

Ronnie plays snooker at breakneck speed so it's certainly not boring when he's at the table

Love it when he's ready to take a shot before the referee places a colour ball back on the table

Brilliant player

He's arguably right

How many young players are coming through of late?

I think snooker needs some more Alex Higgins / Jimmy White type characters to get me interested again. I used to love it back in it's heyday but I'm like faaip now. Back in the day even the old farts like Ray Reardon provided bursts of humour. As for today's brand I'm not sure where snooker would be without Ronnie.

He is also a very decent runner too , I have raced in same races as him in cross country , he ran for Springfield Striders ( Chelmsford ) and a few times finished around the top 5 men in fields of a hundred or so , also good road times around 1.18 half marathon and certainly among the better times of club runners ( my best 1.22 1994 ) , he is a lot better than I ever was and its not even his main sport whereas it was for me . I think he ran mainly for a London club but second claim Springfield ( you're allowed to do that in running provided second claim isn't doing an event first claim is doing ) . Probably helps with snooker as the stamina would be pretty good . For Ronnie I think it was an escape from the pressure of snooker .

I was working today so didn't see any of the session. Ronnie has nicknamed Selby the torturer in the past, due to his (give nothing away) game. When Selby scores well he's up there with the best. Ronnie is missing the occasional easy ball and Selby will punish him.

For me Ronnie is the best ever player to play the game. He's still my main draw when i look at the schedule.

There is a clip of him making a 147 faster than Mark Selby played one single shot!!!

Struggled this morning, must have been on the pop :(

Almost went five frames down, recovered his composure & won last two frames going into this evenings final session 13-11 down
