Able to play on either wing or as a number 9.

Been linked and scouted by some big names, both Milan clubs, Napoli, Lazio, Atalanta, Roma and Borussia Dortmund.

Playing style has been compared to Real Madrid and Spain icon Raul.

Downside, finishing isnt his biggest strength.

Plus side, it cant be easy to get caps for Argentina playing 2nd division football given they have players like Icardi, Dybala, Le Celso Aguero, Martinez and others including Lionel Messi.

He actually is officially in some very legendary company, Messi, Maradona, Ortega, Riquelme, Kempes and Nicolas Gonzalez (all have worn the Number 10 shirt for Argentina)

At £15m I could be convinced, seems clubs are trying to squeeze the most out of their players at the moment so I think they could easily demand £20.

I agree Watkins would cost more. I probably wouldn’t pay for than £20m for him but would prefer him out of the two.

Personally id rather spend £15-20mil on someone like Gonzalez then £20-30mil on someone like Ollie Watkins.

I would argue that its as hard to get a cap for Argentina as it is for England if not harder.

The list of attacking players Argentina have compared to England is probably better on paper and Gonzalez did enough to get noticed as a 2nd division player.

Clearly talent in him, just being in a squad training with players like Messi will have done him good, who knows he may have made friends with Messi, Aguero and co and be able to ask for advice.

He looks decent, pacey, hard working, got some skill, finishing probably needs work but he is 22, plenty of time.

Also its possible MB knows who he is, he may be someone MB had watched by his interns. MB is more likely to be able to find a detailed background report on a 22 year old Argentinian then someone like Watkins.

Couldn't agree more. Don't want Watkins within 100 milesxof us diving cheating sod. Couple that with the price tag and the fact that championship top scorers very rarely replicate that form up a division.

Exactly what we should be looking at. A few quid cheaper than the championship players we've been seeing. You're always taking more of a risk with overseas players, but not so when it comes to Argentinians and Bielsa - he knows exactly what he's getting. And then there's the added benefit that Argentinians know him and want to play for him - might save us a few quid on their wages.

Our interest was confirmed by the Stuttgart sporting director the other week, said we basically hadnt offered enough to convince them to sell.

Given the signing of Rodrigo (hopefully)no idea if we are still interested.

But given we seemingly do want another winger /10 maybe we are.

Anyway he played in a friendly the other day.

2 goals, some real quality in both.
