Brentford are flying after a slow start, the bees beat Bournemouth moving them into 2nd place, amazing when you consider they sold two of their best players Watkins & Benrahma who scored 42 goals between them last season.

Imo Brentford were the 2nd best team in the championship last season & should have been promoted at the expense of WBA or Fulham.

See that a regular name on the managerial merry-go-round is likely to bag another job in the next couple of days with Mick McCarthy set to be announced as the new manager at Cardiff, following Neil Harris getting the boot.

Norwich 7 points clear of 3rd.

Decent Championship team tbf but thats largely down to high quality Championship individuals.

When they got promoted last time they vastly outperformed their xG and expected points.

Basically individuals did better than the team performance, for example Krul made a save that was exceptional or Pukki scored a great goal.

Its exactly the same this season.

Their performances should see them 5th.

I know some dont like xG but its interesting imo.

Many pundits expected Norwich to take the Prem by storm, they were dire.

Just goes to show how a great team (us, Blades) will outperform talented Championship individuals thrown together (Norwich).

If they dont spend a ton of cash they will go straight down again.

Still hope they dont get promoted, yoyo club.

I see Brentford are still knocking the goals in without their 40+ duo Watkins & Benrahma

7-2

Takes them into 3rd place with a game in hand on Norwich & Swansea

Four consecutive victories

Reading 1-3 Brentford
Middlesbrough 1-4 Brentford
Brentford 3-2 Bristol City
Brentford 7-2 Wycombe

Last 17 games

Won 13
Drawn 4

Unbeaten in the championship since the 24th October after a shaky start

Brentford are flying again even though they sold their 40+ goals combo Watkins & Benrahma they are still scoring goals for fun, 55 goals in 28 games

Bees were unfortunate to miss out on promotion last season, much better team/set-up than Fulham & WBA, they won't fail this time!

Wouldn't begrudge Brentford doing it this time. Rather them than Norwich. Nice to see Derby back in the bottom three.

The Bees are a progressive club with a new purpose built stadium plus a excellent scouting network. Brentford will hold their own in the PL next season.

Brentford really do blow hot and cold - a great run then 3 losses on the bounce. They got to the top and then the wheels come off - is it just that they can't handle the pressure and are better when chasing?

I think there prolific goalscorer Toney has missed the the last two or three games & could be out injured for a few more yet!

Brentford comeback from one down with the returning Toney scoring the winner, his 25th goal of the season, the Bees have missed him in their last few games

Big risk for Darren Moore, Wednesday seem to be chewing up and spitting out managers at the moment.

Fair play to Mick McCarthy (who usually comes in for dogs abuse) - Cardiff have taken 24pts from a possible 30 since he took over.

The Canaries are currently top of the table on 73 points from 34 games played, 10 points clear of second-placed Brentford.

Last year, Leeds were on 62 points after 34 games played, and their 1-0 win over Reading had them in second, four points behind West Brom.

Norwich saw off their nearest challengers on Wednesday, Emiliano Buendia scoring the only goal of the game against the Bees at Carrow Road.

Speaking after the game, Farke brushed off Thomas Frank’s claim that Norwich can already plan for the Premier League.

“It doesn’t matter what he says. It is not a guarantee,” Farke told the Pink Un.

“I remember some other comments that Leeds were the outstanding team last season and everyone else was playing for position two.

Now we are 11 points clear of Leeds at the same stage. We know we are in a great position. To have 73 points at this stage is fantastic.

“We are also seven points better off than two years ago. That is outstanding but there is no guarantee the final 12 games work in our favour as well.

“We have to win some more points to achieve what we want.”

No idea why the weird looking creature felt the need to conpare them to us.

They were relegated from one of the crappest Premier leagues ever.

Last season at this time there was 10 points between 5th and 3rd with the top 3 practically guaranteed.

This season its 10 points between 9th and 3rd with 7th 8th and 9th all having games in hand over Leicester.

Norwich are a crap Premier league side playing in a Crap Championship.

Cant compare us to them we are far better.

The only think Norwich have that our Championship team didnt have was a clinical striker in Pukki and a special winger in Buendia.

As teams and styles we are far far better as our Premier league campaigns show.

Barnsley are in the playoffs.

Fair play to them.

No idea how they play (hoof ball judging by the passing accuracy stats) but thats quite an achievement by the Barnsley manager.

Valerien Ismael is an absolute tank of a man, Barnsley players are probably to terrified to lose.

But 32 games 63 points, on a ppg basis thats 90points over a season.

Phenomenal record.

I'd genuinely love to see Barnsley come up, makes a change from the same dull yo-yo clubs who bring nothing.

Not surprised they're doing well. After they played us last season, I thought they'd be contenders for the top 6 the way they were playing.
