This'll be fun.

+ Poveda looks ready

- The weakest, most slovenly performance I've seen since Bielsa took over

+ a run out for all the players that didn't get a preseason
- it looked just like a preseason run out for a few players that are considered first teamers

On the bright side, I made it "Subs Bench" status but that's nothing to shout about on tonights performance

Very little in the way of positives, the only real one was that some players got a few minutes under their belts and no one got injured.

Negatives - no one shone. We had some players that should want to play premier league football yet none looked any better than their third tier opponents and most looked worse. I doubt any have given Bielsa a selection headache, Poveda looked likely but had no end product, Rodrigo had a couple of moments where he looked lively and will hopefully be better when playing alongside sharper teammates and Kiko at least had a busy evening so will be a bit sharper if called upon.

A team will always look better than 11 individuals irrespective of quality, without going all reductio ad absurdum

Excellent comment faaip... I marked them harshly, because they deserved it the way THAT game was played, but it was only one game. I feel there has been some massive over reactions here to the result.
In other threads most are supportive of the way the "spending" is going... one abysmal result does not a season make... and all teams have them at some point or other. Better now I think.

Aye speaking for myself, it was the performance that rubbed me the wrong way, not the result. I'll be happy as Larry if we give Fulham a hiding.

I believe we'll give Fulham a hiding Moth with our tried & tested performers as long as the majority of that lot last night are not involved on Saturday.

Still concerned about our CB's, hopefully a learning process for Koch/Struijk & they'll gel with more games under their belt

Pos . Fringe players got a look
Neg. Fringe players not up to it in a few cases . Too early for some maybe .

Best get it out of the way in something like this game I guess . You'd still rather win though .
